a few jobs done today,...fabricating rear bulkhead bottum repair panel and offside rear bin,all needs doing before the bootfloor and healboard if offered....not easy having to lay on the garage floor most of the time and fetling with the rear bin bits,......

first the bulkhead repair panels:
used old MUK's panel

cut outs from template and cleaned up

18mmlip folded and corners seam welded

all zinc primed

rear bin repair;
Bit more MUK's door pieces

fetling with first piece

offered top piece to be welded to new arch

will tack weld the rear bin bits tmr,I will seamweld it when the floors are coming out.... ;D

on second thought's after dinner, I went back in the garage, stripped all the fabrications of the zinc primer and opened the pot of Por15, keep forgetting that stuff,... gave them all a god coat, no rust there anymore after.

Cheers Tom, in percentage I would say40%, you just have to start with a blanc canvas, everytime you start a new piece,.....

Thanks Graham, everyday a little bit, yes there is a lot of that Brown stuff, then again it is a total restore and I am not new to it anymore, just cut it out, bugger Kurust,.....I started to use Por15 again tonight,...much better and long lasting stuff that is. ;D

just done 1 hour today tack welding the repair pieces onto the rear bin, glad I gave it Por15 last night, looks good, tacked on,....

Attached File  offside bin repair 4.jpg   116.34K   18 downloads

however, clamping the heal-panel in postion, I done some measuring,...inner heal-board to cross-member should be 810mm, the top of the heal-board is correct, but the bottum(where the floorpanel marries the heal-board) it measures 813mm so this needs seeing to tmr >_<

so the story of the rear bin continiues, after havin a go with the welder laying down on the garage floor burning myself a few times I seam welded between the tack and sanded it back, made a cut into the end bit of the panel and crimped the cut to an even top and bottum 810mm to crossmember.

cleaned all the paint of and after work tonight (22.45) gave it all a Por15 coat, inside and out and the B-post while I was at it,......

after seamweld and sanding back

after a nice coat of Por15

Starting on the nearside bin tomorrow........ ;D
