Can't beat a bit of bracing but is it required on the rear panel?? Are you replacing the bottom bit where the boot hinges to or the whole panel?? If the later I would be bracing! Really glad my roof is, as far as I have looked, good, as it looks a nightmare to do !!!

Will really have to summon up some enthusiasm soon !!

Graham

hi Graham, it is the whole rear panel check out page 1 and 7, Evy had a bash at her rear, wasn't me this time,... ;D

started cutting the O/S rot out,...used my chargable Dremel,

as you cans see, an old stressed out one,.....

1 inch with diamond blade and charge was gone, used cutting disk on angle grinder instead and finish with Dr Dremel to cut near the gutter

might have to open my wallet and get a new ish dremel, I wonder if the Dremel 300 will do??

only a small contribution today,.....other half wanted me to paint the bath room for ages, was getting a bit deaf on one ear, so paint from B&Q and managed to put 2 coats on, one more tomorrow, to keep the peace,.....for now ;D

went back to the front roof repair on driver side, Dremel Charged again and out with it,....

a little surface rust on the inside, was expecting worse than that, just done the other side and that was a bit further then just rust, will give that a good clean out and use 'metal prep' and 'por15' for a change.

found an old front wing piece from MUK, that will do the job for a new corner piece, progress tomorrow hopefully (after bathroom) >_<

All the best with the bathroom. But I am more interested in the roof repairs! It will be most interesting to see how you get the 'dishing' on the metal. As usual, my good wishes

thanks for the bathroom support,..... the nearside corner was all dished by hand, hammer and dolly, I was able to do that as this was cut halfway between the top corner and the gutter. The offside corner cut out is higher, I plan to flatten the old piece, copy this on the donor panel and leave 13mm for the gutter lip and 13mm extra for the top. reason is to cut fins in the middle downwards to gutter and dish out the bit, when fitted and tacked on close the fins. That is the plan, but first clean out all the mess inside,.....

'Zick' is very special.....the plan of attack today was different then planned origionally, but that is part of fabricate as you go along. Next one is the rear panel and roof repair, lot of bracing to do first.

Fantastic contouring! Is the edge of your panels plug-welded to the gutter flange? These are super repairs.
