I purchased one of these from moss

As i thought it would be the best fitting panel being a genuine rover piece and the fit is an absolute joke. The outer lip where it meets the outer sill is about 1/2 the side it needs to be and the last largest step is about 4mm too small.

Has anyone else had this problem?

If anyone else has repaired their door step can they recommend a good fitting panel?

if they are sending out parts not fit for the job send it back and ask for another

if they can't supply one that's a better ask for your money back

I've never used that panel myself and can't comment. The picture on the website doesn't look too clear either.

Have a word with Simon and see what he says

I usually use the cheepo hadrian panels.

Do you mean a poor fit like this

This was not a Minispares panel but a Magnum one and was not fit for purpose. I tried to make it fit by slicing and sectioning but to no avail so

i ended up making my own.

I haven't used that one on any of mine, but have used this one

http://www.minispare...ty=pb&pid=34137

It is, as it looks, part of a cut out door frame (hence the price), so is the actual doorstep as fitted to a new shell, rather than just a repair section. Ultimately, if you think the one you have isn't right, we will take it back. If you want me to arrange some kind of swap, whether its for the above, or a non gen version, drop me a PM

I purchased it from Moss (as mentioned in first post sorry just linked you guys for the picture) not you guys Simon i plan on taking it back so it shouldn't be an issue.

I've cut a section of the old step out now and plan on taking it along with me to Bingley Hall on Sunday and hopefully finding the best fit. Thanks for your help guys.

To be honest it doesn't sound like you've actually got a genuine Rover panel but more likely one from another aftermarket company, has yours got a Rover sticker on it?

I had similar problems with fitting a pattern step on my Estate and ended up using a cold chisel to sharpen up the folds up and shrink it to the correct size.

Silly question, but are you sure your current door step is not a pattern part ?

i had a couple of those rover doorsteps knocking around a while back, they are genuine rover panels and the stickers were present, everything lined up fine but the ;last lip that welds to the sill is about half a cm too short all the way along, found the only panel to buy is the heritage door frame item, follows everythign as it should, well worth the extra cash if you wnat it done right

I did both of mine and got the pannels from Somerford minis and they fitted like a glove. This may have been just luck but all my parts came from the same place and fitted well from the start.

Ive used the same panel which came with a genuine rover sticker on it, as above the fit was rubbish and the lip that meets the sill was way too short!
