Hey all,

I'm new here and have just bought my first Mini as a cimbo pressie to myself!

I've always wanted one and have now bought a 1992 L reg British Open Classic in A1 condition. It took some finding a good one and and this one is totally standard and original throughout. No rust, immaculate BRG paint, great mini-lites and as-new interior.

Its going to be a third car for pootling around in and I intend to have the roof open all the time. There is already a CD player and new speakers fitted as well as good security. Clear front and side lenses have already been fitted as well as late mini eye-level brake light and cool chrome GB badge on the boot. :)

I don't know much about Open Classics, e.g. how many were made and how many are left; if anyone could shed some light on this is would be much appreciated. Also, what are these cars valued at? Mine's done 60k, FSH, 10 months T&T, 3 owners and immaculate.

Thanks in advance, i'll get some pictures up asap.

o

Paid late 3's for it; it needs a couple of small things sorting out that are very minor.

I think its worth it, the car is stunning. I saw one's go for this money on ebay that were not as good. Was it worth it? How much do they normally go for?

Yup, the sunroof was a big bonus; i'm looking forward to the fireworks when its open late at night

They made 1500 of these but 500 went to japan so you have 1 of 1000 made!!! actually it is one of a possible 999 because oner that i once owned has gone to the great miniplace in the sky.

I love them and my mrs keeps telling me we should get another.

Have you got any pics?

EDIT:What you paid for it is about right if it is as good a condition as you say.

P.S. I am very Jealous!!

That sounds like a absolute bargain mate, i always say a mini is only worth what someone will pay.....seems obvious, but to me they're priceless

Always fancied a open classic, although i am sure i have seen some with injection motors and some with carbs. What is fitted on yours???

Welcome to the wonderful world of minis, just wait till the show season starts again, nothing like travelling in a big convoy of minis down the public highways

Thanks Big,

Yep, there was a bit of SPI/carb cross-over, though very few got through with SPI. Mine is a carb version, which suits me fine! Its very late too; I haven't seen many other L reg one's, just K's mostly.

AM looking forward to a bit of Mini touring to events, should be a good laugh. THe electric roof will make it especially fun!

Woow, your Mini looks ace!

I'm tempted to start adding more bits like a sump guard and four lamp grille, but it looks so good how it is now that I may just leave it standard.

I'll take some pictures in the next week or so, I hope you find it as pretty as I do!

Just had a thought....

you said it is a 92 L but my mini is a 93 K so are you sure it isnt a 93 or 94?

Plus is it injection or carb?

Hey all,

I've finally managed to get some pictures taken of my car! :D

She's been used by my gran for the past two months as her last car died. Its great to see she's been looking after and its a shame that i've now got to sell her due to the impending arrival of a company car :-

A new thread has ben started in the for sale section.

Apologies for the water splashes on the seats - they are not stains, I just left the passenger window a bit oipen when I was washing her off, doh! :D :D

All the best and feedback on how she is looking would be much appreciated :-

o :)
