Rob at Allspeed has confirmed that he is working on a subframe to take the Micra engine, November 2013 was his target, but feels it may run over a little.

It's about time a frame was produced, I think the micra conversion could really take off if the frame is a reasonable price.

A bit of bad news on the Allspeed frame for me.

Rob has confirmed that he is working with RS5F41 gearbox from the early pre-1998 ish 1.0L Micra which is smaller and lower geared than 1.3 gearboxes, , it also uses smaller drive-shafts, so for me it limits the usefulness considerably.

Some Micra owners do use the smaller box and shafts on the 1.3 engines, and the 160 mm clutch just about copes, hybrid 180 mm clutches have been home made to over come that issue, the lower gearing isn't such an easy fix though.

Fitting the later gearbox will also still mean some cut and shut driveshafts, because the Allspeed ones won't fit the bigger gearbox.

I still can't understand why people avoid the 1.3 larger box, me and several people have fitted them no problem. I ran the 1.0 box and gearing was to short for my liking.

Also when it came to the shafts I found the micra splines fitted the mini cv joint perfectly, so I just used the micra shafts bit with a section cut out of the middle and welded back together.

Bugger.. I really need the whole 1.3 straight drop in plan.. The driveshaft thing is an issue too.

Hey ho, lets look for someone willing to make me one then!

It is, I hate to say it, but I think Rob has dropped a clanger on this one.

Well it's a bent tie bar style, cheaper than the other variations.

I imagine it is because She has a 1.3L CG13, therefore the mounts for the gearbox will be different, along with requiring different driveshafts.
