Are you sure your seat is adjusted correctly. Doesn't take much for it to be out to cause discomfort.

The only time I've ever had pain driving* was in a hired Lanci Ypsillon. I just couldn't get the seat in the right position.

It was also a bloody awful car

*My old seats used to give me a back pain, but I sorted that out by buying some MPI cooper seats. :)

Been driving minis since '85 and yes, I've always had 'the pain'. More of an ankle pain with me though. The seats in our Mpi don't seem to be any better than any others regarding 'the pain'.

Fitted seat extensions in every mini I've owned and they do help a little.

I think it's just the way it is with minis :)

I've found it improves if you have a really lightweight pair of shoes.

I’ve never got the ankle pain; the seats have recently been re-foamed with a bit extra added as well so I don't get the back pain either. The only pain I do now tend to get if from my screwed knee from an old injury (it crunches, locks and can be painful just walking sometimes) But you can fit seat extender brackets, which I’ve found can help move the seat both back and up slightly to give a more comfortable driving position.

Yep I get this as well.
Starts in my ankle and works it's way down,

Bout an hour or so and I have to stop and have a stretch.
