I think we all need to do as Rob82 suggests. Agree to Disagree. Although everyone who has had they say seems to agree that you would be very unlucky to get pulled up on MOT if you have removed them. If they are loose, heavily corroded or one is present with the other missing then this is another matter all together.
If you remove them properly and bolt the calliper back correctly and also refit the track rod end into the hub correctly then you will be very unlucky to suffer at MOT time

Is It Worth Taking Off The Front Braked Disc Back Plates(trackday Use)?

As a former professional engineer, I would never consider them as 'back plates'. A brake back plate is the part of a drum brake onto which the wheel cylinder, adjusting mechanism and brake shoe supports are fitted. Thus any corrosion or looseness of a back plate would be a serious safety issue.
What we are talking about are splash guards which, in the case of the Mini, do absolutely nothing. They are removed from all rally cars which have to have excellent brakes and which drive through loads of DGS (that's dirt, grit & s**t) on every event.
I've been having disc braked minis MoT's since about 1967 and have never, ever even had a tester query it. The car goes on the Tapley Meter, the brakes work to specification, the brake components are bolted on properly and Bob's your Uncle.
Take them off and chuck them in the scrap bin - that's the best thing to do with them.

I took mine off a long time ago, never had a mention at an MOT. The difference in brake cooling will be minimal if removed.
