mine has a stage 3 fitted... with kent high lift cam... but as far as what ive been told... it wont make much difference because the ECU wont let it...

im sure someone who would be able to explain why this is the case will be here soon...

I am toying with the idea of an after market ECU... but they expensive!

iv investigated more and have realised i already have a exhast system(RC 40) and induction kit so the only things i need would be:

>Mini Sport Stage 3 ported and polished cylinder head with 35mm larger inlet valves
>Mini Sport 1.5:1 ratio billet alloy roller tip rockers
>Uprated head gasket set
>4 x NGK uprated spark plugs

my car has done 79 thousand but is a really good engine im just wondering will my gear box (1995 4 speed) stand my expected 80-85bhp

My gearbox has been fine for 10 years runnng with a 1340 engine, with stage 4 head, h/lift cam, and 1.5 rockers, with a standard ecu, its a bit erratic on tickover but can nudge 90mph in 3rd gear, 0-60 is slightly faster with a carb hooked up, but std ecu is fine, you will notice the difference

I fitted one of these on one of my old mini's srveral years ago. With a standard cam it made 81bhp@flywheel,dont know what 0-60 was but it was considerably quicker.
