What year or model of MINI are you asking about as the engines and fuel consumption figures vary quite significantly over the years since 2001.

ie. Mk1, Mk2 or Mk3, One, Cooper or Cooper S.......also petrol or diesel?

 Probably a later mini and a petrol version.  Not really thought about a particular model yet.

 

I was just interested as I had heard that they were a little thirsty.  Used to have a BMW One series and that was terrible on fuel.  Just starting it would take 1/4 of a tank

I now have a 54 plate Cooper S.

I get 35 mpg on my commute, which is the same as my old Rover Mpi Cooper.

I still want to go lower on the rear but I carry passengers and just one person in the back brings the arch to the rim lip and starts rubbing so this is as much as I can go need harder springs really. Curent ones way too soft

Are you running coilovers? Which ones?
I'll be fitting ap's on mine in a few weeks if I can find someone to give me a hand lol
