"While it starts life as a F56 MINI Cooper S road car, 120 hours of work turn it into a real racer. The interior is stripped out and a safety cage is welded in, while under the bonnet the standard engine gets an upgraded turbo and ECU, for an additional 86bhp (275 BHP), and is matched to a sequential racing gearbox.
The standard suspension parts remain, but it gets stiffer bushes, adjustable racing dampers and more aggressive camber, caster and ride-height settings. With no ABS or servo assistance, the upgraded brakes are pure motorsport.
All of which ensures the MINI Challenge feels stiff, pointy and every bit the real racer. The sequential gearbox means you can bang each upshift home without lifting the throttle, and there’s plenty of feel through the brake pedal, too. There’s also enough adjustment available to fine-tune the chassis set-up."
Price: £34,950
The 2015 MINI Challenge starts next spring, and takes place over seven meetings with three races per weekend.

Taking it to have the coilovers fitted on Thursday and also bought a new exhaust bracket has heard they are common to rust and mine looks a little low so that'll be done too.
The run flat warning light did come on for a few miles on a 320 round trip on Sunday, but went off on its own and been off since and tyre looks alright so gawd knows lol

Good news!
I seem to remember my airbag light took several 'clear code' attepts before it went off a couple of years back......not seen it on since.
Run flat light may need a reset as you can get random warnings sometimes......just check the tyre pressures and then re-initialise system with the button by the handbrake if it comes on again.

Asked for a bluefin for Christmas
Might be worth asking Paul/Tom/Scott at 1320 for a price on a remap (I'm not sure what they charge these day's), they're only in St Neots

I don't understand why MINI owners top up as soon as the red light comes on as mine is still on when fuel reads above 1/4.
Anyway, I know that I can always go right down to the last bar on fuel gauge now. I must of been running on fumes as it was low down on the last bar when finally got to petrol station we were both waiting to conk out any minute
I'll never let it go that low again, but from now on, just going to refuel just before last bar, instead of when the guage starts to illuminate

Not MINI related, but I was once on the way to Manchester from Ashford in Kent, and forgot to fill up before leaving. It drank quite a lot of fuel. I was heading up the M20, and completely missed the M26 junction. I had to go all the way up to the M25 and then back down. I had to get to the Clackett Lane services, and the Almera started spluttering as I got on to the forecourt. I was so relieved.
I have run of fuel a few times before - my Rover I misjudged how far I could get the end a couple of times, and a Mk3 Golf convertible on an autobahn, I just completely didn't look at the fuel gauge for some reason! Never done it in the mini, and now have two jerry cans as a result of having to buy them when run out.

R53 MINI COOPER S JCW GP 2006 (32 miles since new)
"This is an opportunity not to be missed as there cannot be another car like this. This exclusive limited edition, number 1885 of 2000 produced (459 UK cars were built only) Mini Cooper S (supercharged) John Cooper Works GP has covered just only 32 miles from the day it was registered new in 2006. Kept in a dry stored, heated garage, this car has been kept off the road to preserve its heritage and never used. The R52/R53 Cooper S JCW GP came with 218 bhp up rated cylinder head and supercharger."

Heres one for the R56 owners out there, I had my Clubbie in for its MOT and it passed with only the rear tyres throwing up an advisory. I was shocked considering the work that went into it and problems it's had. I know the garage had to level the headlights but now they no longer sit flush with the bonnet rings, has anyone had this happen with theirs?
Its not the end of the world like, but the gaps are uneven and annoying.
Also anyone had their tappets replaced? Mine needs doing, yet another issue.
Other than that, love the car
