They really do sit awesome when they're lowered.

Hmm,a thread from Max Power & Fast Car seems to have made it on our forum?
Maybe moveto general chat?
for "topic you want to discuss that isn’t related to Minis"

Love MINIs.

My parents where genorous enough to offer me a late 54 plate MINI one with tons of factory options as a 21st birthday present on the condition I sold my 1985 mini.
I would get the money for my car, and a very nice modern hatchback.

I turned it down. I was very tempted though.

I think they look great, my neighbour has a r53 cooper s modified, 240 bhp and 300 lbs/ft of torque.

I want one!!!!! They look great standard, but with some nice wheels and lowered slightly they look awsome.

FINAL WARNING

Either be constructive and go with the flow of the topic or stay out of it. I'm sick and tired of seeing MINI topics ruined and closed because of the select few on here that don't like it. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean others shouldn't be able to.

Those who are enjoying this topic, please continue.

I bet that was a stressful choice!

I don't think I could part with Elliot even though I've not driven her in over 2 years. The more I look through this thread though, the more I want a MINI as a daily driver and with what they cost, I better get saving!

I agree entirely! What's more is not only can you make them look damn sweet but there's the performance aspect to play with as well :(.

Why do we talk about the Bini like its not a mini to me its just a Mk6 Mini, we dnt talk about Mk1-5/ Austin or Rover like its a different car. BMW moved with the times unlike Rover did with any of its cars and now Rover are no more.

I like the Bini

Not as much as you think, certainly a lot less than many classic Mini prices these days, from Parkers Price Guide:

MINI One 2001/2
Original Price £10,300
Independent Dealer £3,335
Private Good £3,030
Private Poor £2,425
Part Exchange £2,590

MINI Cooper 2001/2
Original Price £11,600
Independent Dealer £3,675
Private Good £3,335
Private Poor £2,670
Part Exchange £2,850

Even cheaper if you can pick up an early Mk1 MINI Cooper or One (2001-04) with a failed steering pump (£300 easy DIY job) or a whining bearings Rover Midland gearbox (£600 DIY to fit a good used 6-speed Getrag box upgrade from MCS). The One is cheaper insurance but engine can be upgraded to Cooper+ performance with a simple £300 re-progam for the ECU.

My 2002 MINI One daily driver with my classic Mini :strongsad:

I do like some of the MINIs. I'm sure this has been said before but hasn't anyone ever fitted a MINI engine into a mini?

Its a lot of work, for not much gain. There are much lighter, more modern engines that produce more power that are easier to get in

Someone may have done it but although the Chrysler Tritec fitted in the Mk1 MINI's is pretty bullet proof if you are going to the trouble of an engine swap it is easier to go the tried and tested route of fitting a Honda Vtec or Vauxhall 16v GSI engine and box with the 'off the shelf' front subframes available for classic Mini transplants.

Going the opposite direction here is the Z Cars MINI with a Honda Type R K20 engine transplant!

Me too.

Mr mab01uk, what are the MINI ones like to drive? I liked the cooper, but what's the ONE like? How much poke?
