Its a classic mini forum
That car at the bottom right of the picture looks familiar, and I have to say, I found the advertisements for the Daihatsu Sirion very persuasive too!
It's nice to see the modern and classic scenes coming together slowly but surely. Was especially nice to see the new MINIs making it into the main hall at Staffordshire Mini Fair in January.
As others have said, I'm very much looking forward to seeing MINI's new 'Rocketman' concept entering production at some stage. I know someone has already put down a deposit on the car - very brave, but they'll get the first choice of colour, trim etc.
There's even talk of MINI making a JCW version of the Rocketman. Discuss...

Sense! Make him king of TMF for gods sake. Some like them, some don't. Some see them as a Mini, some don't. Some think they are good cars, some don't. Really, who cares? Different people, different opinions, none are right, none are wrong.Love it or hate it, is up to you. Don’t fall out with one another because of their opinion! Understand your never all going to agree so that’s just the way it is.

MINI has released a few details on a new version they have dubbed "Goodwood," after the spiritual home of Rolls-Royce (also owned by BMW), the festival of speed at the Goodwood Estate, and to British luxury in general. It will be a proper in-house customising service organised by BMW, with the new MINI going off to Rolls Royce to be trimmed in the clients choice of wood, leather and any amount of luxury the customer requires, before being delivered. There’s no word yet on just how extensive the customisation options will be on the MINI Goodwood, although it is doubtful they will reach the dizzy heights they did in the ’60s. Top end Radford Minis – like the Mini Cooper S Radford de Ville with all the options – could cost as much as £5,000 in the 1960s. That’s about eight times the cost of the standard Mini Cooper S – over £100k at today’s money.
"The Goodwood concept will be the 21st-century version of the Radford Mini, a luxury, bespoke version aimed at the wealthier ends of the Chinese and Middle Eastern markets.
The Goodwood Bespoke is to be available worldwide later this year. Pricing? If you have to ask........... We’ll lets just say that it will be the most expensive MINI ever."

But over time some of them have grown on me.
The final clincher was setting off down south to pick up my old cooper sport, instead of going by train I decided to hire the cheapest hire car for the journey and drop it off down at Portsmouth. Anyway arrive at the car hire spot in York and this guy comes out and sees me with the 14year old looks us over, asks why we're hiring the car, then says hmmmm 'do you fancy something a bit sportier... we need this car at Portsmouth?'
Out came a Cooper S....God it was fun to drive, huge smile on my face !!! and then to have the contrast of driving the Cooper Sport back made it a hell of a day.....They still arnt true minis to me BUT if I was in the market for a smaller modern car I'd buy one......... probably the Countryman or the GP
