New MINI Coupe and Roadster Spied - With its launch due later this year, the new MINI Coupe (and Roadster) to be built at Oxford have been seen out and about in final shakedown testing!
Some Spy Photos............

The forthcoming MINI Coupe may be called the MINI Broadspeed Coupe. Autocar sources suggested a while back that the Broadspeed Coupe name was being evaluated by MINI and BMW, in homage to the Broadspeed racing team that manufactured the 1966 Broadspeed GT Coupe.

MINI Roadster Concept

Posted Image

This prototype Mini pictured below (MG badged version) was the closest BMC got to making a 2 seater Mini-based Roadster version and now resides at the Heritage Collection at Gaydon, shame it never made production................like the Mini it was based on, it would have been way ahead of its time:
http://www.aronline....portsado34f.htm

"Active between 1960 and 1964, ADO34 was a project to develop a Mini-based roadster, which would logically have replaced the MG Midget and Austin-Healey Sprite. Different versions were put forward by Austin at Longbridge and MG at Abingdon, while a coupé version (ADO35) was also developed, along with Austin-Healey versions of each car (ADO36)."

all this hatred towards the bini, i just dont get it i have to say. i totally agree that its NOT a mini, but it is in axcellent car in its own right.

im not biased because of this, but my mum has one, brand new last march, cooper s, every last extra on it, its a great car! seriously quick and amazing brakes and handling. plus being all white with black wheels and the aerokit thingy, my mum is the coolest 60 year old!

i have owned and been into classic minis since i was 16, and i think they are one of the best, most fun cars ever made, but the new mini is great too,

cant we just all get along? lol
