I've never been keen on the Mini tow bars anyway. They mount from the subframe and boot floor. This rigid mount is in conflict with the rubber mounted subframe

Not true, mine bolts to the rear valance and the boot floor, doesnt touch the subframe

here is what I tow with a 998 mini 30, its a Dandy trailer tent approx 350kg, tows very well and is a braked unit

Wow, never had a tow bar on a mini, but I am surprised that being attached to only the rear valance and floor would be strong enough.

Wow, never had a tow bar on a mini, but I am surprised that being attached to only the rear valance and floor would be strong enough.


Hence why I only want to tow something as large as a washing machine :ermm:-

Just put wheels on a washing machine.......

Perhaps a roof rack would suffice for that sort of size?
