Hello everyone right today i got some information on the gangsters "The Kray Twins" now what im about to tell you maybe known or not to any of you but trust me it is all true

bit be hide the Kray's

Reginald "Reggie" Kray (24 October 1933 – 1 October 2000) and his twin brother Ronald "Ronnie" Kray (24 October 1933 – 17 March 1995) were the foremost perpetrators of organised crime in London's East End during the 1950s and 1960s. Ronald, commonly referred to as Ron or Ronnie, suffered from paranoid schizophrenia.[1] The Krays were involved in armed robberies, arson, protection rackets, violent assaults including torture and the murders of Jack "The Hat" McVitie and George Cornell. As West End nightclub owners, they mixed with prominent entertainers including Diana Dors, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland and politicians. The Krays were highly feared within their social environment, and in the 1960s they became celebrities in their own right being photographed by David Bailey and interviewed on television. They were arrested on 9 May 1968 and convicted in 1969 by the efforts of a squad of detectives led by Detective Superintendent Leonard "Nipper" Read, and were both sentenced to life imprisonment.
Ronnie remained in Broadmoor Hospital until his death on 17 March 1995, but Reggie was released from prison on compassionate grounds in August 2000, eight weeks before his death in October from cancer.

i reckon if you owned this mini, and found out about its former owners you could add a few quid to the asking price.

Found this on google..........it was below a picture of oew mini

All the identification numbers are correct and in the correct places all confirmed and dated by British Motor Heritage. It is a Stage 5 Touring Downton conversion with the correct Downton Cylinder head identification numbers are correct ie Job number, Skim, CC per cylinder all stamped, Carburettors are the very rare SU H2. The only parts that were changed on the car was the brake servo from type 6 inch to the correct 5.5 inch. The Downton conversion itself would command £2.000 if this car was put back to standard spec, The car has Factory recliners , factory fitted radio, original Carpets and headlining, The car comes on again very rare 3.5 J wheels, All the glass date stamps are correct Triplex for 1969, The Car also comes with factory hand book and BMC approved Accessories book, Has featured in The Cooper register Magazine August 2004 and Feb 2005 The Sunday Mirror, Mini Magazine, and Classic Cars. The car is reported to have been originally owned by an associate of the Kray twins an indeed was impounded by the Met for some 8 years I have the arresting document dating 14/8/70 the car being registered Dec 1969 it only had 8 month on the road confiming the very low milage still below 7,760 miles. The Car is reported to be the most original Cooper S MK11 in existence today.

So was it one of the Krays or someone they knew?

trust me it is all true

PMSL.
I am an East London Lad, and the amount of people that claim to know the Krays or have inside info always start with the same line! I only know rumours and what was in all of the Autobiography's. I went through a stage where I was interested in my East London heritage and read most of the books.
I live in Walthamstow now. (I grew up in Chingford, where the twins are buried) but used to spend many nights in Bethnal green as one of my mates lived there and it was easier to get to his from liverpool street or the west end than trek all the way back to Chingford. Theres also a really good comedy club down there on Cambridge heath road owned and sometimes hosted by Lee Hurst. anyone local who likes comedy should check it out!

I wouldnt mind that mini! Bring it back to East London! >_<
It would be nice to know if it was their car, or just an associates motor. Its a great car by the sounds of it no matter who owned it... but the previous owners being the Krays does give it a bit more of an appeal.

I also wouldnt mind the Mini that Lenny Mclean owned (I hope its had the shocks and cones replaced, as I cant imagine them being any good after carrying him around! lol) Pretty sure it was a fairly standard mini though.

Most of that lot owned a fair few motors. They used to drive them and just dump them when they needed a new motor (ie when the cops got wise to what they were driving) If they didnt do this to the Mini, it would seem they had some kind of attachment to the car. Which kind of makes it all that bit more special!
