Oil Pressure Switch How Far Does It Go In?

Changed the stock oil pressure sensor on front of block because its looks like its leaking from around there. Got one from mini spares it looks different and i think has less thread on it to.
The one before was screwed in about 5-6mm or so and still had threads showing as they are dirty etc. This new one seems to screw in for ever should i just keep going until it stops?
can i do any damage to it or the block as at mo there is some resistance but its still tightening up.
Its well tricky as I dont have a deep socket to clear the spade connector on end so using an open ended wrench and there isnt much room for manuevoure last thing i want is it not be done up tight enough
and i lose pressure and need to call AA lol or it leaks more than before lol

because of this....
I know there will be an exact torque to tighten it to... but I don't have that with me...
but I just tightened it till it was tight - not over tight... it is tapered... so I would imagine that it would strip the thread if you over tighten... so dont over tighten...
from what I understand.... it wont do any damage going in further than the last one... (as long as its not over tightened)
the one ive just fitted was a bit shorter than the one Ive just taken off, and it's working fine!

Thanks will keep going until it gets real tight i think as dont want more leaking lol. MRA said about 30 f/lb but my torque wrench is to big for that!
Will go steady and then go for drive and see if its leaking if not leave well alone !

Just be careful otherwise you may damage the thread or snap the sender, or damage the block. If it leaks you can nip it up a bit more.
