i have one of those glass in line fuel filters with the 1/4" holes.

ive got some nice braided fuel lines to stick on it, im going to mount it to the bulkhead so its easy to see (and hopefully it'll look nice)

the question...

which way round should it go?
should the filter inside be facing the pump end or facing the carb end??

some pics would be hugely helpful, even if its just a google picture with sme arrows drawn on in paint.

cheers,
john.

The glass fuel filters usually have an arrow on them somewhere (try one of the tails) to indicate flow direction.

so according to that pic, the fuel should pass from outside to inside the filter itself?

i guess that makes sense so you can see any junk in there.

cheers.

yes that's right

although if it was under the fuel tank it would stop muck getting into the fuel pump

With all filters, fuel, gas, etc., the flow path is from the greater surface area to the lesser surface area. That means flowing in to the "outside" of the element and out through the center.

it seems a fair bit more difficult to mount it in the boot, i dont fancy messing with the tank to get access.

im not overly mechanical but i can manage to mount it in the engine bay. (hopefully)
