That manifold looks really good! The flow shouldn't be too bad at all, #2 cylinder will run a little richer than the others but it should be a massive improvement on the stock unit. Is there any reason that the MAF/throttle body wasn't put in the center?

And with small ram pipes for comparison

I've done some more development and I've found the best way to get even flow for all ports and therefore even air/fuel mix is to radius the inlet for #2 as shown below. I hope this is of some help!

very impressive! i like that. the reason it wasnt put in the centre was for space. if i make another 1 i'd move it a couple of inches towards centre, or the other option is to mount it vertically on the end,

Had a day on it today, exhaust finalised, coolant system finalised apart from fan, fluids in, (does anyone know how much oil a micra gearbox takes) just the metering head, return fuel line and the dreaded wiring and it should run. then tidy it up and an mot. hope to have it on the road this summer, fingers crossed.

how did you spot my soft back tyre???? not driving yet but very close. finalised fuel lines today and fitted cooling fan. i'm waiting for some aluminium to manufacture a spacer to lift the metering head up a bit. number 3 fuel injector wiring fouls the metering head so i need to raise it 30mm to cure problem.( i missed that when making inlet manifold!) next time i'll move metering head a bit to the left to cure that oversight. A pal has offered to help with the wiring and that should be it running, fingers crossed

Hi

Finally got one step closer. Trial fitted the engine into the subframe/car, It looks to be in a similar position to yours what do you think?

Posted Image

I am not entirely happy with the fit but it is tight everywhere so it might be in the best place now.
I do like your inlet manifold, how long is your inlet manifold now?

hard to tell the position off your picture but it looks similar, to be honest once you trial fit i think it finds its own position the passenger side cv joint and closeness of the diff to the steering rack determines its position. The water pump pulley is in line with subframe tower on mine (pictured earlier on) but who's to say thats right. i'll try to take some pictures of the manifold with a tape measure next to it at the weekend for you. stick at it, it'll be worth it

I have looked at your previous picture and it's difficult to tell but I could possibly have mine factionally nearer the passenger side but looking at your pictures and your progress it has definatly reasured me I must be in the right area.
If I get time at the weekend I will look at doing a bit to the exhaust as this seems to be the next tight bit, although I have run out of gas again so that will probably stop me in my tracks again. Does anyone know where I can get my CO2 bottles exchanged in the Newark/Lincoln area ?? I normally have to go to mansfield which is begining to be a pain.
