I always thought they were the same. Having read through a bunch of vtec threads people mention using 'injection fuel tanks'.

An MPI tank runs at 3 bar IIRC, I'll have a look round other threads ad see if I can find out a figure fo an SPI tank.

got chance to do a bit today, exhaust manifold modified to fit, picture to follow, need to tweak alternator mount as i had it sitting a bit low, hopefully will have that finalised over weekend. has anyone out there got a lathe they could turn some driveshaft sleeves on for beer tokens of course. i reckon i need two about 6inches long with an internal bore of 0.915 on one side and 0.990 on the other

nice going bro, you are more than halfway there as long as the frame is almost there. My friends are so shocked to see so many micra threads popping up everywhere >_<

It's mostly down to you me thinks Big Chief. You have started a revolution all the way from T&T! How do we get out of the Other conversions section and get the administrators to start up a Micra conversions section?

Viva la revolution!!

Like the alternator mount. Does that mean no need for an idler pulley now?

I'm still using the idler pulley as shown in picture of engine out the car, the pulley mount is bolted to the side as big chiefs but i carried the mount round to bolt to the vertical m6 bolt above the water pump. this allowed me to mount the alternator tensioner to it without twisting the idler pulley.
I got gear selector in and working today also driveshafts into a local machineshop. progress being steadily made.

Very nice build Rids. I am very curious as of how this will turn out. I would really like to start a build like this one day but first soak up as many info as I can. :P

I assume this is the CG13? Opposed to flying banana's build which was a 1.0? Mine would be a left hand drive Mini though since I live in Holland. Would you think this is an advantge (in term of room for fitment) since engine and steering collumn are now not both on the same side or the car?

Clutch is still hydraulic right?

What are your plans with the inlet manifold? Carbs?

It is the cg 13.. clutch is going to be cable, i'm in the process of doing that now. The inlet is still going to be fuel injection, i'm also doing that now, should have some photos of that next week. an issue you might have with left hand drive is the diff sticks through the back of the subframe and i think where your steering column meets the steering rack may be very tight. you will not know untill you try. there is plenty room on the engine side, the area it is tight is around the diff casing.

That could prove to be a problem for a LHD car, as my clutch pedal is in another position. Hydrolaulic clutch would be easier as you can lengthen the pipes with sharp bends without trouble. :D

How do you plan to convert the Mini pedal box to cable clutch, just simply attach cable? Maybe a conversion to a hydraulic clutch with parts of another car would be easier? (probably not)

I'll Post a picture of modified pedal when i get chance, and where cable go's thru bulkhead, the pedal mod is easy. just disconnect hydraulic connector pin, seperate cable arm off micra pedal and weld to mini pedal so the pedal sits at the right height. much easier than sorting hydraulics i think. Its about the easiest part of conversion so far
