I'll try and take some pics at weekend. if you use a side mounted rad, the hose routes just fall into place. I used standard rad, turned upside down with the filler neck welded up. then an expansion tank nose added to "new top" no overherating issues at all.

Might be worth looking at fitting a front mounted rad, I did and its no harder to fit.

i've had no cooling issues with this set up, the fan has never come on as it runs under 1/2 on the gauge in all conditions

Same here no issues at all just saying that it might be easier to fit a front rad than altering a mini rad.

Personaly I don't like the fact that the nissan ecu dosent operate the fan till 98 degrees I've set mine to 90 which is 2 more after the thermostat opens.

Just that most manufacturers stick to the low 90's. 88 degrees is the optimum temprature for unleaded petrol, seems pointless letting it heating up any more than that.

Its only the fan that comes on at that temp. The only times its likely to come on is in traffic when optimum isn't really relavant

nice project, same sort of colour scheme im going for! im looking to put a micra engine in mine soon, are there any big problems you can warn me of? does the gear stick come out in roughly the same place as a mini or will something have to be fabricated to hold it?

the gearstick comes out the same hole as mini one. I elongated the two 8mm rubber mount holes by 1/2 hole each and micra assembly slotted right in.
Any problems you might have can be overcome by various methods covered in the build threads on this forum.

The mini is in Armidale NSW, but I'm based about 700km away in Moss Vale, hence the slow pace of my conversion... :(
The engineer I'm using is in Ballina so wouldn't be far from Brissy, (the engineering process is national now, so he may be able to help though he doesn't know mini's much so there's probably better Brissy based options) if you look on ausmini there are a few mini conversion happening up there, Matt Read who runs a mini business is looking to do a micra conversion so he would probably have some advice, other than that there are very few micra conversions in Aus, they all seem to go for 4EFTE conversions of suzuki swifts.... not sure why they just all seem to want silly amounts of power.

Happy to help with any advice, speak to your engineer early, and buy a whole Micra there's no point stuffing around with just bits...
The Australian K11 micra forum have been really helpful, www.micra.com.au
