Once I’ve got the engine running, tided up a few lose ends and finished up the paint on the front end it WILL be up for sale.

That is gorgeous!!
Are those wheels what you all call "steel wheels"? How wide are they to fit on with no arches? Where can you buy them from?

Those are cooper reverse rims (10x4.5), but you can only run them without arches if you stick with Drums. If you want the same look with discs, you need to fit Cooper S steels (minisport now sell them new, reverse rims are only available 2nd hand)

i havent really decided on colour yet. i was going to get it sprayed in March next year in a turquoise colour but i was gonna keep it looking how it does at the moment and never really thought about making him look more like an earlier mini. now with the plans i have for him i would love something like island blue or grey which will more suit the style of the car once finished

Hii  i have a 1990 mini, but really in love with mk1 minis  i most probably could afford a mk1 restoration project, but would never be able to afford all the work (well not yet anyway) so i was thinking about making my mini a mk1 lookalike.... what do you think? i already have the rear light conversion plates somewhere in the garage, mk1 grill. bonnet. i am also going to be converting to 7.5" brake setup with 10x6 alloys after christmas  what else? lol

if some people on here have already made there mini look like a mk1 links and piccys would be great

Here are some pics for you of the Mk1 rear light conversion plates, Mk1 bootlid, grille, 7.5" discs, Japanese style offset 6x10 Minilites/Dunlop R7's, etc, on my Mini:

I know :)
On the picture it looks black but it's actually Charcoal.
When I'm buying it only 2 things I'm going to change are removing the badges and putting my minispeed alloy 10" cooper S wheels on.
