Id love to have a MINI as well as my Mini, and id like to use this forum for both.
Having a MINI section would allow the forum to grow and become more vibrant and youthful. Might even attract some females aha

and more guys drive BMW minis.....
if people want a MINI section so much, why do you not just join MINI2?
Keep TMF for mainly classic minis and MINI2 for BMW minis
I have no issue with MINIs but i dont want to come on here and have to spend ages going through whats relating to the classic mini and to the new MINI because its bad enough doing it on ebay and i just hate the fact when you say mini, people automatically assume the New MINI
Its not right that a car that was so influential should be replaced by something that is a completely different design!!
I wouldnt go join a BMW forum and ask for them to create a section for a classic mini....
Theres nothing wrong with loving both the new MINI and the classic mini but keep them in the right places, this is a forum for classic minis and the majority of people have knowledge about them, not the new MINI

Its a big issue, and one that will affect a lot of forum decisions.

as at the end of the day members are not being allowed to have their own input?
argumentitive threads are fine but when it comes down to statistics its not alright?

Dont see the point...its a different car, theres already another massive forum on a different website, why do we need one?
lol found that funny aswell

i did say let it run for a while?
but is it because the team wants to discuss the possible increase in forum traffic?
or take on mini2 as a forum?
or listen to the active members on this forum?

Both total mini and mini2 have a classic section which are both used by a great many people! May be they should not have them has they are for the new mini!
thats fair enough, but to be honest i personally wouldnt want to go on MINI2 and ask for advice as i know that if i come here, i will get advice specific to my car as there are more classic minis here.
same goes for if i wanted advice on turbo'ing , id go to turbominis.co.uk
so shouldnt that be the same for MINI owners? shouldnt we be directing them somewhere where they can get better advice than here?

sounds like the admins have made the decision
as at the end of the day members are not being allowed to have their own input?

i dont think that the admins have made up there minds yet, and we are being able to have an input hence the reason this thread hasnt been closed
but i do think that there sould be a vote etc on wether we should a MINI section or not but also at the end of the day it is down to the mods to decide what happens as they have all of our best intrests at heart and also they are the people that run the forum so anything that make it more complicated or add to there work load should be dicussed by them and not really by us

and im not shouting, im merely posting my views, and set up a poll for everyone
so each member gets a vote - democracy
if the members do or dont want a MINI section then it will be potrayed in the vote

active members dont even have to post, they can just look at threads

If by active members you mean those with the highest post count, check back through this thread and see the post count of those members who advocate the the BMW idea VS those who don't.
I've just done it and the results are surprising.
