Welcome to the world of 7 port. You're in for a real treat.
I cant wait. Its going to be quite lethal! Engine should be able to cope with 20psi to. Just the earbox that cant!
Looking good Jonny! Bet you can't wait to see / feel the difference esp with the 7 porter!
Very excited. First outing is 6th may for mk1 action day. Hopefully get it done in time.

Block is going to 1310 (simply because 1293 pistons are currently not on any shelves). Forged 1310 18cc omegas :).
Got a new rear view mirror, its literally an exact replica of a longacre but £16 delivered from eBay. I then stripped it down removed the metal backing etc and glued the glass to the brackets. Along with taking a bit of those. Very happy with it.
Got the plastic screen fitted to, was very tight!
Also fitted my tillet. Was a bit of a faff with my cage being designed around my old seats but Im happy with how it is.

How come you're not going all in with a 16v 8 port head? Space constraints? Or is there another reason?

It fits under the bonnet
I haven't got to spend out on a new exhaust, conversion kit, machining and welding etc
Plus I really like the SC head

Saenz rod with omega :). One very light and strong combo!
Heads all blocked up and built ready to go. Its got 25cc chambers the pistons now sit flush so it gives me 8:1 CR.
Block is also bored out and good to go. Was done by alex at The Car Kitchen. Some very nice work, he also fitted a few timeserts on the stud threads as they were a bit on the ropey side! Ive also shaved quite a bit of weight of the block. Didnt go to mad though. Can see it around code plugs dizzy hole etc.

Please could you upload some/all of the older photos as I'm not able to view them but would really like to see all the steps through your build? Or do a photobox thing I think it is?

PM me I can send you an album link.

Had to give the oil gets a bit of clearance due to the new rods.
New pistons look right at home
I had some different ARP hardened washers on the head so these needed a little trim to sit snug in the little recesses on the head.
Reay to go in tomorrow.

Made some good progress today.
Hopefully get the wiring sorted tomorrow.
I have some how fluked it and got about 1mm of clearance to the fuel rail and the bonnet!
