could you not have that remade or trim it down to go directly to the rad ?

also, is that the final mounting area for the oil cooler ?!, if so you could tidy things up moe by getting a shorter cooler pipe ? as the rest is just soo clen and neat seams out of place haha

Great work and very unique build

I made it up myself just out of ebay hoses. I can't think of a neater way without modifying either the rad or stat housing.

The trouble is the height difference and position. the rad bit points directly at the stat housing and is lower.

I might try some flexi water hose, see if thats any better.

No the coolers not staying like that, not sure where i will put it yet, i'm undecided!

Had some help from the misses this morning. Manged to get the tunnel heat protected.

Got all the brake lines and a hydraulic handbrake in place. Just need to hold the lines in a few places.

The rear line goes into a T piece in the boot then out to the longer goodridge hoses.

Can you just get a nice tight 90deg in there and trim it close to the bend? You may even be able to use the one you have and trim it. It's all coming along now.

No its hard to see in the picture but the rad bit sits behind the stat housing and below it. I was thinking get the rad changed so its at the other end and then rotate the stat housing (use a normal housing and a different engine steady).

Best position i could get it in. On the other side it would be to far away or get in the way of the gear lever.

I love some smart and tidy everything looks. Feel free to come round and do my brake lines haha. I am worried I'll bend them wrong and they end up looking naff!

I think the photos do it better justice lol.

I found it easier to use an old bit of copper brake pipe i had and bend that into shape first. Then copy it with the new stuff. Cupro-nickel is also better to work with.

Pictures to show my headache.

10375044_10152521355676654_2813557540142

Column is in. My MK1 inner was shot. The lower spline didn't hold on the rack. So i robbed the inner off a mk3 column. Did not take to much modding to fit. Now i have the better lower bush.

Drilled for the mk1 indicator thingy.

10365727_10152521355671654_9206096152198

Dash is also in, didn't like it in the centre, now its right in front its easier to see. Not much space for it to fit in. Loom is also pretty much done. Hidden it all down the inner wing.

10375044_10152521355656654_4169170302422

Accelerator pedal is in. Had to make a bracket to bring it forward and mod the cable.

10338699_10152521355666654_5958777877793

Two rear lower steadies in.

10334241_10152521355846654_4258694398702

I gave up on using the mini handbrake and got this of a mate. Came from a suzuki SJ. Easier to use. It won't be used in anger.

10313804_10152521355836654_3163108284110

Fitted with threaded bar instead of a cable as it sits a lot further back.

10305055_10152521355851654_1892990220753

Trimmed arches down, i need to mount the brackets for them next.

Hand brake from the top side.

Two arches done. Need a little more adjusting but i'm pretty happy.

Looking cool nice to see you are cracking on .
Is it just the photo and I am no expert but if your rad is lower than your thermo hosing you will need to fit a expansion bottle ....... (higher) ......or you will end up with a huge air lock problem
Sorry if I am wrong or if I am teaching grandma to suck eggs

You could fit a bleed nipple into the top hose as that looks like it would be the highest point.
