Dropped some weight off my rods. Only done 3 as i'm waiting on the postman. One was not in the best condition.
Need to get them balanced and re-faced (if thats the right word) on the bolt/nut face.
Had to put a recoil in the block. It was the extra stud by the stat. Only had one thread holding the stud in.

Its all done in 45mm to keep within the blue book. It's stitched into the existing steel work and the column/pedal box is tied to it.
A leg also comes through the front cross member and spreads the load from the front coilovers. Can also see some of the stitching to existing steel.
Seats tied into the cage for safety reasons in a grp shell.
Hope to get lots of updates coming now i can crack on with it.

Manged to get some primer down in the evenings this week and was off today so made the most of it. First coat of paint is done. Not bad for a roller and brush.
I decided on roller and brushing the body as its just grp finish and any areas the gun would be hard to get to on the cage. The small areas on the cage came out ok so i decide to roller and brush the whole cage as well. Need to put another coat on at some point.
Also Primed the bay.

Very nice work on that Jonny. Things always look better in a single colour.

2nd time lucky! Got loads of runs down the inner wing and some silicone blisters on the first attempt.
Its not perfect as i did zero filler work but its respectable.

Got all the spreader bits painted and baked.
Lots of bits fitted in the bay.
As the body is a lot lower clearance becomes a problem the bottom hose is very tight, had to move the brake hose over to clear the rad and trim the engine mounting. I'm not running a mechanical fan so its bolted to the inner wing.
Mani and carb fit nicely.
Fitted clutch line to.
Top hose is not pretty, but functional. Any suggestions to improve?

could you not have that remade or trim it down to go directly to the rad ?
also, is that the final mounting area for the oil cooler ?!, if so you could tidy things up moe by getting a shorter cooler pipe ? as the rest is just soo clen and neat seams out of place haha
Great work and very unique build
