Its been fairly slow putting the money in so i haven't really noticed! It does have quite a bit of my money in it now.

Thanks 'mm man'. I've seen quite a few pictures of your cars before. I do like the hatch back on your latest project.

I just keep plugging away at mine slowly. It'll get there. I'm planning on starting the engine soon not long after that it will be roll cage time!

Out of interest who painted your other one? Also what was there location?

I painted it myself with a one off colour i made up . It's a 2k blue pearl over a silver base coat . Ref face book never done it being a old fart may need to speak to my son and learn the ropes .

Its a nice colour! You should, there is quite a few of us on it and its kept up to date. http://www.facebook....oups/miniminus/

I'm doing ok so far. Its just the body work that's the hardest part for me. This shell had so much crazing, I've got rid of the majority of it, its just bringing it back to a nice smooth surface. I'm going to pay someone to finish it of and paint the outside, i plan on painting underneath and the inside though.

I know the feeling well, my first minus took the best part of 20 years (on and off build) and upwards of 15K so keep going it will all be worth it in the end.


I must admit I said I would never do another one because of how much work it took but guess what, I now own two!
This time going down the 16v route and some quite severe body mods (but yet again time and money are adding up) Oh well carry on regardless

when i saw this car in the miniworld mag a few years ago it was my favorite mini. had no clue what a minus was then top marks


love the KAD internal linkage, shame i cant run that custom linkage i was planning, engine has a remote box :/ but if i did i had an old F1 style (copied from a F5000 at work) linkage drawn up. that would have worked and been to awsome!

Only for a little while :).

Was shocked, started up second time. Must of had a bit of dirt in the carb at first as it just over pressurised and came out the bottom of the float chamber.

I've now taken the engine and subframe out. Got a mate modifying the subframe for more radiator clearance and the top arm coilover bracket clearance. As it nearly touched the subframe on my old car.

Will sort some body work bits filling a few unnecessary holes, then rollcage. maybe!

Hasn't been outside for months....

Been doing a little bodywork today and sorted the internal wiper motor.
