I saw that kit too and had a guy on the 16v forum take a picture of it:

It is a fair chunk of change and I wondered if I could maybe nock one up for less with something like this:
http://www.rallydesi...roducts_id=4075
and using this as a reservoir as it has a float built into the cap already and you only have one overall level to keep your eye on:

It does look the dogs do dars though!

I contacted rally designs to see if they could get the same as what mini-tec produce and they said mini-tec must modify one of the wilwood kits to suit a mini.

I would not think it would be to hard to do something with a universal one as long as the pedals sit at the right height/angle?

Great stuff. I might switch from the heavy glass rear screen for something similar.

It's a good way to save a lot of weight from up top where it matters more. Can also bolt them in for a different look ;).

Yea I was thinking about a bolt in one, lose the heavy rubber as well.

Only trouble is, I'm worried my back end will be too light. All my weight saving seems to be up front on my build.

Minus screens are smaller than normal aren't they?

I'm not sure what the difference is that I have actually saved going bolted. I could have used less bolts in the rear screen though.

No they are the same size as a mk1. My rear had been made out to a mk3. Now it's somewhere inbetween.

I think the rear quarters may be a little smaller than a mk1 but I had mine made from a template.

you could use less bolts or you could get some nice fancy alloy ones (or both!)

The windscreen rubbers are just over 1kg

I'm planning on slowly swapping out to alloy ones when I have finished.

I could have probably got away with half the amount I have used on the rear screen.

I've definitely saved some weight going bolted then! You know how much the rear quarter ones weigh?

Just weighed everything I have for fitting the door, rear quarter and rear window. 420g for the nuts/bolts and daming tape. Probably a considerable saving.

There's a list that's been compiled on turbo minis. I bought some poly windows from blue blood but I might sell them on again for some bolt in ones.
