Nice little up date Jonny. Have you done anything else to your shell?

Are you having the seat re trimmed or anything?

Just been sanding down all the bits I have repaired. Not done much this week as I'm not keen on working in the little garage sanding even with a mask. Much nicer to do it outside!

There's not much left for me to actually buy for it, just need:
Pedal box
Rollcage made
A few custom bits fabricated when the cage is made
Battery
Then all the wiring

Been looking at the possibility of taking it hill climbing and a few auto sport events.

The garage the car is in is getting a little damp at the moment so i've just been trying to build up my head to get it back on the engine as thats in a damp garage. Although its covered in gt85 and wrapped with clingfilm so should be ok!

Got it back from sutton rebore who changed the valve guides and gave it a good clean up. I cleaned it all when i rebuilt it last time but couldnt be bothered this time haha.

Slightly annoyed as i hadn,t noticed that a spring had gone, so i'm on the hunt for a single spring, otherwise i'll just have to get new ones.

The heads had a lot of work previously as you can see.

Another update that no one will read ;).

Head built up and painted.

Its been outside for a little bit.
Posted Image

On a rainy day i did this to my innocenti lights. Took ages to sand the chrome off.
Posted Image

done, nearly. Still need a bit of tidying as where i masked them off the paint got behind the masking take in some places.

Posted Image

Started to build the roofs gelcoat back up. Begining to think it would have been easier to go over the whole thing with a belt sander and remove the entire gelcoat. Live and learn! Or even tried to get a new roof skin for it.

Posted Image

Rubed down.

Posted Image

After anther coated and rubbed down again. Getting there slowly!

Posted Image

While it dries i keep working on other little bits like the dash rail...

mmmmm titanium.

Cheers!

What you talking about I read your stuff and your the only one who reads mine (or at least comments).

Its looking good though jonny. That roof looks like a proper ball ache though!! I quite like what you have done with the lights getting rid of the chrome, we have not to dissimilar taste methinks. Even down to our purchases of titanium head studs :) but do you have the thermostat housing in Ti? haha

Another good update. Keep it coming ;)

Thats what i mean, don't seem to get many comments on this forum. Such a big community but not much interest in builds!

It certainly is, i'm sure it would have been easier to source a new roof section from minus cars and chop this one off. Its still no where near being flat.

I'm making the light units myself, worked out i can save 400g by using these lenses just bolted to the shell with some lamp holders.

No its just a dsn one from my last car, hopefully the steady fits at the right angle onto the bulkhead crossmember! Have you got a ti one?!

No i'm just using a standard thermostat housing but have an extra take off for something or other :) I am using Ti studs to hold it down though. I've been trying to get hold of Shaun who is the guy who owns the rights to minus for a new bonnet but he is very illusive, but I think I would buy a new roof if I were in your position because that looks like a shed load of work and I really mean when I say it I do not envy you doing all that job!!

I've started now so may aswell continue on it.

Is he from minus-cars? I was just about to look on there website but it seems to have gone. http://www.google.co...iw=1280&bih=717

To be honest looking back at it i would have not bought this shell if i realised how much bodywork was involved in sorting out the crazing!

Someone had to save it at some point though ha.

Hands are sore....

When I thought I had nearly bought everything I'm now going to buy an x pin diff, a decent clutch and itg stub stack from MED. Another £500. Soon adds up. That should be the engine sorted.... He says!

£535 into this lot.Gone for a decent clutch kit rather than the crappy ebay thing i bought. Had to get a new one as my crank seal had weaped onto the clutch i had in it. I also fancied trying a lightenned flywheel as there wont be much weight in the car i should get some good benefits on the road.

Got the X-pin simply because i'm changing the ratios so while i'm doing that i my as well put this in instead of the hardened diff pin one i have in it.

The ITG was more of an implus buy. Shame i didn't know what i was looking at when there was one on ebay that sold for £!5 recently....

Hopefully thats the last bits i need for my engine although i'm tempted by a dsn timing cover to go with my kent vernier cam gear, is a very good weight saving on the front end. See if i can get a deal on one at L2B this weekend!
