Sounds good! I've had another look and think im going to keep it the boot, should help with weight distribution a bit as my back end is a lot lighter.

More photos!

I've made a decision on how to do my coilovers, going to a have a spreader like this made up and the a bar between the wing/cross member. Should work.

Boot pins

Pull handles from DSN. I didn't like the base plates they come with so i have used them on the other side to spread the load.

Made this to cover the gear linkage hole as i have an internal linkage kit.

Inside of the doors. Covering the holes with some carbon like the gearlinkage hole cover. (Sneaky shot of my dads pickup in the background!)

Subframe finally in place, sort of! Yet to fit spreader plates, front mounts and rear mounts.

Looking good Jonny but I don't think that card spreader plate will take the strain of the suspension ;) The doors on the inside really give it a coming together look :)

Thats a tasty bit of fit from DSN I did consider them but I think i'm going to stick with the classic alloy set you can get and anodise them black.

One last thing I see you have a finger sander and I have to say it is one of the most helpful tools ever!!!! Everyone should have one :)

Good work mate.

Regards Blue

p.s how'd you like my banner I nocked up quickly earlier :)

I was going to reinforce it with some PVA glue?! I was really struggling with ideas of how to take the stress out of the inner wing. Did you get what i meant with that spreader? Going to have a bar going from one bit to the other to make a nice triangle.

I wish i went with black now to match the short handles from Minisport. They work quite well but were quite a pain to fit, had to take lots of material out of the door to get enough throw.

The powerfile is quite possibly the best thing i have bought for this project! Its amazing such a useful tool, will get in the most awkward places.

The banner looks good! That the colour is going to be? I like the badge to, our cars should look quite different but quite similar haha.

cheers

Don't think pva will cut the mustard I think some chewing gum :) I get what you mean about the spreader plates but to be honest what i've got is fine I think your idea is over engineered but there ain't nothing wrong with that :)

Colour will be something like that i'm going to be having a lotus metallic grey.

I thought you were talking about the bonnet badge i'd designed but remembered I haven't actually posted a picture of it up yet i've kept it a secret up till now :)
I've got the stickers scaled up of 'minus' from roofless.

I may post a picture of my front badge design on my build diary now actually :)

I just don't think the inner wing is strong enough to take all that load. You're welding coilover mounts/supports onto your subframe?

I mean the original minus's didn't have much support for their shocks but I guess there wasn't as much pressure as having coil-overs! but I will say my brother when we were building his he didn't have the extra welded on pieces and it seemed to be quite rigid.

Yea, thats what i was thinking. Hopefully what i am doing will be nice and ridgid! Shouldn't be to long before its off to get a rollcage made up.

I have just noticed or topics started about 10 days apart and over a year ago now, i think i am now probably aiming at a 2013 finish haha.

Where'd you get those from? Are you going to have normal glass in for an IVA?

I had already bought them before reading about E marks. Im really not very good at this iva stuff.

Been busy lately...

To fit the coilover bracket i had to do this as there was a buldge for my wiper motor. Im having the wiper motor mounted inside the car!

Template and a nice thick lay up of fibreglass

Fibreglass cut and fitted like a glove
[
All done, also layed up a sheet on the inner wing up and round the wing for extra strength
[
Had to modify this slightly to stop it hitting the underside of the win

Sus fitted. clearly need to modify the subframe!

My shell is very bad for crazing cracks! The roof was a mess so i have removed everysingle crack. Need to go over it again but a bearing in the tool i was using has died so i am waiting spares to go over it again. Will fill deep parts with fibreglass and then go over the top with gelcoat/filler. Anybody want to help me get it flat again.... didnt think so hahahah.

Wing done as well, have a spot under the filler neck, a spot on the the rear n/s quater and some on the front panel. Basically if i dont get rid of these crack they will show through the paint.

Wing fibrefilled back up, just needs a gelcoat over the top.

Looking good jonny. That cutting out of the skullcap on the wing and filling up looks familiar ;) Good progress though.

Thanks blue, yes I may have copied someone on here a little ;).

It's looking quite a mess with the roof all taken back! I still have a lot more to do. Should be worth it though. I've decided to paint all the inside underneath etc myself and get someone to do the top coat on the outside.
