With their current economy he may be able to slip the scrapyard owner a few extra bob to not chop it up and remove it in a big box. No one would be any the wiser!

i like this idea, it probably wouldnt even be that much or just go at night and get the engine running and nick it, get it to port and export it to england or something where it can be saved and returned back to you with a british registration documents nd stuff?

Looks like a happy ending!
According to new owner 'Reymondos'.....he has posted today on AustinRoverOnline forum 'In the News'
http://www.aronline.co.uk/

Quote:
"Finally Success.
The car was saved, but I had to remove the chassis number plate and a considerable sum.
From now on, the only way is up.
Right now I am having the squashed roof section beaten into shape."

Whew... now as long as he remembers the style of the vin plate and the numbers he should be able to get a reproduction one.

Great news that it got out the scrapyard in one piece. Shame it will never end up back on the road. Unless of course another Mini was to sacrafice its VIN plate.... :-
