Did you use the Tint on the inside, or outside of the lenses Jon? Thinking about spraying my jewel lenses red, or getting a set of mk2's and doing something similar :)

I taped off the red bit on the out side. Gave just the amber bit a couple of coats. Then took the tape of and covered the reflector then gave the whole of the out side a layer. I then gave the inside a couple of layers. Did that on both and they come out pretty good. I have a couple of runs on the passenger side one so at some point I will get a new lens and do it again.

A trick i've seen in the Dub scene is to get a q-tip ear cleaner thing, dip it in thinners, and mark out some thin lines, you cant realy see them, but when the light shines it comes through the orange bits.

Cheers mate. Yea I much prefer the mk2 lights. They just look a little more classy. I'm hoping to get the other side put on sometime this week as well. Was gonna do it all today but its been raining all day which is a pain in the ass.

Thanks for the comment.

Right things didn't go so well today. I removed the bullet mirrors and had planed on putting some plastic ones back on. Anyway I removed the old ones and look at how many holes I found.

So before I can fit the others back on I need to get all the unneed holes filled up. Pain in the ass. Also can anyone tell me how standard mirrors attach? I have 4 bolts that came with the mirrors but do I need some nuts as well. Or should they just screw tight in to the door? If anyone can help me with that then that would be fantastic.

I also took one of the arches off and fitted some of the rubber body trim.

I think that looks so much better. I'll do all the other arches when I get a chance as well.

Anyway thats it for now. Thanks.

hmm yeah i think you need those to go in the door.
My mirrors had a little plastic plaque-base that mounted onto the door then the mirror mounted to them.
You can have a look at mine on tuesday if you want anyway. I want to see the seats in yours anyway they look nice >_<

Are they not just rivnuts?

Get a rivnut tool, very handy peice of kit. Some stainless rivnuts, and stainless allen bolts, sorted.

Might need a patch where all those holes are though.

No you only need those bits for the chrome mirrors. I'm stupid. I worked it out my self by checking the doors I took the mirrors off.

Cheers. Yea I'm gonna need to do something about all those holes. The guy welding up my red mini ins coming round today to collect it so may ask him if he willl quickly weld those holes up when he gets a moment.

Thanks.

You can just nut and bolt them on. If you take the chrome strip off the top of the door then you can get at the inside, some short nuts and bolts and they are on.
