The main beem stalk had broken and was causing a short on the column which kept draining the battery. Lucky a mate of mine gave me a new set of stalks so I swapped those over today and charged up the battery and she burst in to life!
I then fitted some new speakers today. If you look back you will find some pics of 2 speakers hanging under the lower dash rail. Anyway them speakers where pretty knackered and a friend of mine had knocked one of the pods loose with her hand bag (bloody woman) anyway I bought some new speakers and set about fitting them to the back of my dash.
The guy that does the welding to my car has done the same sort of thing and has still fitted the air vent in front of the speakers. I like this idea so shall be stealing it lol.
I also found a nasty bit of rust on the drivers side door pillar which sucks. In quite an awkward place just to have a quick fix so think it will have to be left until the end of next year when I take this off the road for a resto (red car should be done by then lol)
Also started to recover my parcel shelf as it was covered in some horrid felt like stuff. Stripped all that off and should be picking up some cream vinyl stuff 2moz.
All in all quite a good day. Everything seemed to go smoothy.
Thanks!

The vent idea is mine... dunno who welds your car though?
I think others may have had the same idea

Glove box/shelf thing from a mini special. Fits really well and doesn't get in the way at all which is cool.
I also recovered the parcel shelf today. Just waiting for the glue to dry and needs a bit of trimming. Should get that fitted this evening with some luck!
Thanks.

Anyway over the last 6 weeks I have had a massive problem with the car over heating. Which I have finally sorted with some help and replacing pretty much everyone part of the cooling system haha. So glad it now seems to be sorted.
Took the car to the retro show at santa pod which was a fun weekend with some bloody cool cars. Got a thumbs up from the guy in this on the way which made my day!
Then my GF bought me this at the show haha.
Then came MITP, met a few people off here that I had never met before which was nice. Car got some nice comments as well.
One thing people may have spotted at MITP is that I was missing my banded steels. I'm currently running some ultralights as I need 1 new tyre for the banded steels.
Had a great weekend with only one slight issue which involved someone hitting my car and driving off.
Then the only thing I bought at MITP was a bike rack so I'm able to carry my chopper around with me.
So now with the retro rides gathering this coming weekend I have decided to tidy the car up a little bit. I will be taking the chopper with me this weekend and the wheels should be getting a lick of paint before the weekend as well
O and I need to fit a new windscreen thanks to my mates sports car and his stupid sticky tyres and a friend of mine has got a twinspeed MPI heater working which should make my winter a tad more bearable.
Thats about it for now! Thanks for reading!
