Removing the locks is fiddly but not rocket science. Its just trying to sort something out round me working as I dont work the same hours each week hence why I thought it would be easyer for you too take the locks and do it in your own time then I can do mine around work. Its up too you though I don't mind.

Right well Im now back from Spain! While their I bought a little flowery thing to go round the rear view mirror.

Then while on the flight home I came up with another one of my marmite ideas. I 'borrowed' these off the plane and fitted them to the car.

Thats about it for now. Now waiting for all my nice new bits to come from Optimise!

Thanks.

Right another update. I went down to the great dorset steam fair for a few days and bought a couple of cheap things for the mini. First of all was this pointless light that goes in to the lighter.

Posted Image

Anyway the plan is to cut the plug off and put it on the parcel shelf wiring it in to my brake lights. Making it in to a 3rd brake light.

Like so. Although itsnot actually wired up yet lol.

Posted Image

Then my favorite thing I bought. My sideways speedo that changes colour the faster you go.

Anyway I have no idea how to go about wiring that up as a speedo in a mini but I'm hoping I'll find someone who can help me out as I think it will look pretty cool! Just getting it to read the right speed I guess will be the tricky part.

Anyway thats it for now I think. Thanks.

Love the speedo, always thought the sideways ones were cooler, really American muscle car style! Good luck getting it to work!

Thanks. I really hope I can get it too work. If I knew what car it was from it would make life alot easyer as I would be able to get a cable made. I'm sure it can be done though. Can be one of my winter jobs. MOT is due next month so need to sort out bits for that next.

Right. Well had one of them time where everything went wrong. The other day going to work my wiper motor cover fell off and fit the fan. Resulting in it snapping one of the blades off. My belt and been squealing for a few weeks as well so thought I'd go out and get it all changed before my trip to Stanford this weekend. So took everything apart while doing so found one of my rad hoses had split. So I'v now fitted a full set of Black silicone hoses. Looks much nicer. Fitted a new fan back on. (Yes Lee its the right way round) and fitted a new belt. I just need to go and get one new jubilee clip in the morning so I can finish it all off and hopefully all will be well once again. I didn't get a pic of the new hoses but I'll do that 2moz. Looks alot better in Black as well!

Thanks.

Right its all back together now. Heres a pic of the new black hoses.

They look a million times better then the tacky blue ones. Just need to get the engine painted black now and it will finish it off a treat!

Thanks.

HAHA see now the brake light its the kinda tack I like. Blues hoses on the other hand. IMO I just think blue ones are a tad chavy. Black ones suit the car better!

Heres a couple of pics of the stuff I bought at Stanford.

Dash rails for a tenner.

Posted Image

I'v got some cream covers coming so thought rather then taking the ones out the car sticking the covers on and needing to let them dry which means I'd have no car over a weekend I thought I'd get these ones. Recover them then just swap them straight over.

I also bought 2 of these.

Posted Image

Their rare glovebox shelfs that fit under the dash rail in the passenger footwell for mini mini special. Gonna fit one on the clubby but not sure what to do with the other. May fit it to the red mini or sell it on. Their were only £5 each anyway so a bargain at that price. They go for a hell of alot more then that on ebay.

Thanks for reading!

I'll happily buy one for a fiver ;D

Great find, use them as a mould and make fiberglass ones and become rich.

I think their was talk of people doing copys of them at one point. But the price i think was about £25 per a thing and most people thought it was too expensive. Although these normally go above £40 on ebay so £25 was a snap.
