The gas struts came today. Now need to look into ways of getting them to fit.

I also took this pic today which I really liked so I'm gonna post it in here.

The yellow headlights have now been removed. Their pretty crap at night and I'm driving all the way to gaydon tonight so want to be able to see where I'm going.

That is all. Thanks!

Right well she did gaydon this weekend without too much trouble. The air filter did eat its self on the way but I bought a new one their and fitted it with some help as even a simple job like that turned out to be an ass ache of a job as does everything on this car. The reason the air filter broke was cause the engine was moving too much as I only have the one steady and the bushes were mullered so I bought new ones and also a second top steady so this should solve that problem. I also bought some MPI rear pocket things and some boot hinges which I shall be painting black. So yea thats pretty much what I spent all my money on. O and pot noodels. O and I should also say chip bought me a sticker! Anyway as long as the weathers good 2moz I'm going to try and get some painting done and get some nice new bits fitted to the car. I'll get some pics of the bits 2moz.

and because a post with no pics in boring heres a pic of the car at the show taken by anouther user on here.

Thanks!

O yes I remember didn't you shout something at me as I was driving out as well? I was convoying back with my mate in his pickup as he had some trouble with his coil and my phone had run out of battery so we went back together to help each other in the event of a problem. Which apart from my indicators breaking didn't happen.

lol at the pedobear, looks like a nice clubby you got there mate.

Thanks. I get loads of comments about the bear lol.

Right well this pic shows the problem I had with the steady.

Posted Image

Plan of action was just to cut it down a bit which I started but then the blade on my angle grander came off the central silver bit. Note to everyone never buy the cheap blades you see at shows. They suck and to be honest are pretty dangerous. So with that job half done I decided to make a start to cleaning up my boot hinges ready for paint. I forgot to get pics of them after. Hopefully gonna be painting everything 2moz!

Right fair to say I feel like a moron right now. Both me and my mate chip were looking at this wondering why it didn't fit. Neither of us thought of fitting it under the rad bracket. Thanks so much to Ben for pointing this out even if I too now feel like the worlds biggest tit. At least the blade broke before I cut the thing up lol.

HAHA you have no idea how genially stupid I felt. This is what happens when you drink loads saturday night and wake up sunday morning with a slight hang over and try fitting stuff to your car at a show. Its a recipe for disaster.

Did some painting. Did the boot hinges and the engine steady!

I'm happy with the boot hinges one could be done again but I ran out of paint but it will do for now.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Thinking about it now I probs should have done the steady in High temp paint but I'll see how it lasts.

Posted Image

I also fitted a bit of DSN goodness.

Posted Image

I also have the thermostat housing as well so I'll fit that soon!

On a bad note my exhaust manifold gaskets gone so I started to take every thing off to replace it and its started raining pretty dam heavily which sucks. Hopefully it shall be sortied for the weekend!

Right well got the gasket replaced today and topped up the dash pot oil and she now purrs like a cat!

The old gasket. I had wondered why it started running like crap on the way to gaydon.
Posted Image

I also fitted my powder coated grill. I dont suppose it looks much different in the pics but anyone who saw the other grill in the flesh will no how crap it was lol.

Posted Image

I also fitted my powder coated number plate light.

Posted Image

Will look much better one the black window insert and black hinges are on as well!

I also fitted a DSN thermostat housing thing and fitted the old rocker cover from my other car as I thought it would go with the other black bits!

Posted Image

I'm really pleased with how today went. The cars starting to look a bit swish now!

Thanks ;)
