If I do I'll buy something like that (the correct size obviously) and make a load of metal discs, try and make a quick job of it.

Hahaha embarrassing!

I'm fairly sure you can buy them without the drill bit in the middle.

If they are all from the same mould then they will all be the same shape, surely?

Not 100% on the process of fibreglass and moulds.

when grp is still green (not fully cured) it will deform very easily, Arc angels comment
is a bit pie in the sky imo. we have panels at work and everyone is different.

Yeah that'll do the job of making some quick circles. I'll be half tempted to take other metal panels on a diet >_<

You will still need to put that on an auger/drill or it will spin out of control.

Yeah I'll sort it when I get round to doing it all, won't be for another few weekends yet >_<

& I've just put up about 5-6 different threads full of items I'm selling in the for sale section, go check them out, might be something you fancy.

Also selling the 1990 shell, which does leave a horrible guilty feeling in my stomach but I just can't afford the time for it. It needs a good loving home.

Yeah I'd seen the rubber grommets on Mini Spares, although over time these would perish and need sorting. The factory fitted discs were metal with metal lugs that held them in place and then sealed with some sort of clear sealant.

I know these did a perfect job as 30+ years later they are still in mint condition. I need to have a think. My main concern is it's just another day of welding that I can't spare!

Cheers mate!

Had an answer-phone message from Tris at Arc Angels today, said he's going to tidy up the mould and sort out a new one for me. Not the best company to try and contact, although I think they've just had a mental few weeks with orders. They are top blokes though, polite and helpful!

& also.. I've been thinking..

That's a result with the bonnet. It does pay to persevere and hopefully the next bonnet will be spot on. :xmas:
