Simply because the whole shell is raised up on my platform made from bricks & a wooden plank so it seemed like an awful lot of effort to drop it down.. I made sure the crowbar was as far into the studs as possible to avoid that problem, they're straight as they were before I started torque'ing though!

Thank you mate! Get out there and get going!

I picked up the parts from Belmont Metal Finishing near Old Dalby (Leicestershire) & I can fully recommend them! Really pleased with the outcome.

I should find a place near me that does that sort of stuff and just drop all the grubby bits off with them. Be a real time saver! They really do look the part too. They're painted aren't they and not powder coated?

Yeah they really do look the part! I think I may get some grip tape and make some little patches for the pedals.

Massive time saver and they do a proper thorough job! They are powder coated.

quick question > what shade of grey did you end up going with? Tweed? I'm 99% convinced to go tweed grey, yukon grey, or something in between. The other 1% is for Almond Green...

It's not grey at all. It's Sandy Beige, seems to appear differently dependent on the light which is nice.
