Made some more progress today but the majority of the day was spent clearing a garage because I'm being booted out of where I am now due to a new toy Dad has bought.

Bit more headway with the engine, ancillaries and wiring though.. & a tidy up after last nights late night stint.

This, along with the door shutting video you posted a while back, has to be one of the most interesting videos on youtube I've ever seen!

Haha yeah I do put up some odd videos!

Today was more electrics but the majority of the day was spent having a serious clean up & sort out. Both in preparation for moving garage & just to get on top of what parts are old and unneeded and what parts are to be used.

Also gave her a hoover out & a quick polish over :-)

100x better!

Check the for sale threads in a little while as I'm starting to sell a lot of parts on the cheap!

Hour or two this evening.

Posted Image

I popped to Halfrauds and got mugged off for some electrical fittings.

Posted Image

Tidied up a few loose ends and some odd fittings.

Posted Image

Had to order some bolts because I'd stripped two threads in the gear box, had to tap them so in turn it enlarged the holes.

Posted Image

& because the bolts are bigger I had to enlarge the holes on the bracket as well.

Posted Image

Applied a bit of loctite and jobs a good'en! Very happy with how smoothly it all went.. I was expecting to lift the engine out and replace the gearbox..

Halfrauds are a rip off for electrical (and everything else). I'm trying to find a good place to buy a load of connectors + wire for not a rip off price.

That adjustable engine steady looks a good piece of kit. Where did you get it from? I've got one for the same place but its a fixed length. Trouble is the threads are stripped like yours were.

Yeah I hate using them, trouble is the local mechanic shop called Gearbox which was a family run business (I think) has now closed down.. probably due to the likes of Halfrauds being round the corner! A huge shame.

Yeah it is! I picked it up at a show from Mini Speed I think.

If you need to borrow my tap and die set you can do mate!

I recommend Polevolt : http://www.polevolt.co.uk/index.html

If you want the OEM look get the uninsulated crimps, either to fit into housings or with the clear rubber boots. You need a different crimp tool though, but it's worth doing the wiring properly.

Phil.
