Ah thank you mate!

Just a thought I've had recently.. considering swapping / selling my side exit exhaust to a centre exit (same size and still Maniflow).

Posted Image

The side exit will be very close to the reverse lamp and I don't want it to cause disrupt with the heat or any black marks.

From an aesthetic point of view, a centre exit will look a lot more symmetrical.

Fantastic work! Is that exhaust a 1 3/4" I.D maniflow? I have a centre exit on my mini but fancy side exit!

Definately centre exit.

In my project, the reverse and fog lights are frenched into the rear valance and i thought a side exit would look odd - being so close to the reverse lamp. Centre exit it is. Just need to make sure the tip of the exhaust is nice and tight up to the bumper and not too low.

Keep up the progress :)

I'm not a fan of centre exit exhausts on minis, just doesn't look right in my opinion.

Also have you got curved section removed for the side exit on the valance? That would do my nut in if I had the section out for a side exit but instead had a centre exit. Just food for thought.

Cheers
Chris

Looking Great! Love seeing this thread evolve. =]

If it was mine I'd be keeping the exhaust, but putting a boot mounted reverse light on, and ditching the fog, so the rear end would be cleaner, and flow better

As above, evaluate two options, a centre exit for simmetry, or ditch the reversing light for a boot mounted one, then you can go with a side exit.

I will also downsize from 2" to 1.75" as I'm not turboing anymore so the 2" would've been overkill.

Thank you!

Available to borrow? Sorry mate, if it's used I can't sell it as new!

After some cleaning and fixing I got the heater put together.

Posted Image

Built up, looking pretty damn nice! I will be replacing the label plate on the front as it's tatty and a bit worn, which is a shame.

Posted Image

Bolted into place.

Posted Image

Batch of parts to clean up.

Posted Image

Nitromors'd then bare metal'd.

Posted Image

Etched!

And that's it for today.

I didn't think I'd get any time in the garage today but I managed to get the evening in there.

What a grubby mess! So after disassembling it all and giving it a bath of petrol and a good brush down..

Wiper motor.

Posted Image

Now the parts are free of loose dirt and old grease, I will properly clean them when I'm next back.

Posted Image

All ready for the next time I'm back.

Posted Image

Got the harness in for a test fit & the handle on the door to make opening it easier.

Harness will prove tricky for making sure I can reach all the important switches!
