yeah i have ive just started one not much at the moment just getting into gear on it getting bits together so i can have a good go instead of starting and stopping because i have no bits haha
Any little updates are interesting! you can always find bits to refurbish and repair :)
looking good! So it was you that bought that clutch master!! I saw it and went to tell my mate who was looking for one then couldnt find it again when i went back! lol!!
dash is looking good! Dymo tape is always suitable on retro cars ;)
Ed
Ah no way, how strange! I didn't know you were there either mate, would've been nice to meet you!
& yep, some of the switches might be completely obsolete, but I'd like my dashboards to be full of switches, gauges and accessories. All labelled with the Dymo ;)
Looking very good indeed Luke,
Where did you get the dash from?
Cheers, Louis
Thanks Louis!
I bought the dashboards from Mini Mail, can't remember the price.

Just got to find a spare weekend to get home now!
The projects I've got on at the moment last for another 3-4 weeks so normally the weekend after they are due tends to be a bit quiet before we start the new projects, so fingers crossed I'll find some time.

Yeah, a few people it would have been good to meet... never mind!! My mate ended up getting the other one on that stall, with a slight dint....

cuppa tea, your thread. pretty decent mornin' 8)
bleedin brilliant build mate! top job! turbo, beautiful shell..what more could you want!!
Ah thank you! It isn't turbo anymore though
love it mate, your car looks beautiful, amazing work gone into it.... the only thing id change or just look into is theway your bolts go that hold your harnes bar in.. there ment to point into the cabin :)
Cheers mate!
I've got them pointing downwards so that if on the off chance all 4 bolts came loose and fell out, the bolts would remain sat in place.

Haha ;)
I've had to remove the 'wiper' label.. it was about 1mm lower down than the rest.. couldn't live with it!
Right, home for the weekend!
First of all.. packages.. oh some freebies!
A chap at my Dads work was clearing out his shed and knew that I'm into Classic Minis so gave these away! He also had some books and brochures so I've got those as well!
Lovely!
& onto the new parts..
Rubber grommets.
Cone compresser! I will be setting up a hire scheme for this soon.
'Brand new' (they've done 100 miles) dizzy and coil.
Fuel tank rubber neck & foam washer. Also some bolts for the clutch cover.
Wiring loom! Yey! Although I was annoyed to find out it's only the front half.. thought I'd paid enough to get it all!
Battery cable.
Bumper on and fastened down. Reverse and fog lights need aligning!
Pulled the battery out of the shelves for a quick clean.
Much better!
Lines just sat in place. I need to drill two holes the cabin side off the bulkhead on the seat so they can drop down, then they'll run along side the tunnel.
Wiring loom very loosely sat in place.
Front subframe dropped out so I can get the hi-los in.
This really made me angry.. they haven't even seen the road yet and the rubber is already perished and split! Not to mention the general state of them! I'm going to dig out my invoice and find out who I got these from, I'll definitely be having words.
Copper greased up.
& the hi-los in!
Gave the underside a quick spray of underseal and then I got the steering rack in and secured.
Will be out there tomorrow! :)

It just so happens that I bought some Special alloys the other week, looking at send them to Carl at Force Racing at some point in the future
I see the buying is still strong haha.
I would have thought you would be buying a more uprated battery to cope better with the other electrical bits you've been adding?
Shame about the trackrod ends, I saw your comment on FB. I believe mike. off here had the same problem with his.
You doing anything to the loom or just keeping it standard?
Cheers
Chris

Type 063 battery will be mooore than enough for any mini.
Build's looking good, do love that colour.

Brilliant work! The car is looking better and better each update! The paint looks really great especially as the other parts go on.
Glad you got the hilos sorted too

Ah lovely! I know how much money I've thrown at mine so I can't bare to imagine how much you've thrown at yours!
The battery should cope, there isn't that many extras really, nothing that demanding anyway.
& the loom will be chopped & extended where needed, I won't know until everything is in!
Do you know which Mike it was that also had problems?

Tear drops secured, I will pull the bolts out and fit washers, this is just temporary.
Subframe lined up, I tried standing in the middle and deadlifting it, but it proved damn difficult and did nothing more than make my back ache! So out came the big guns..
Much better!
So that was lifted up and secured at all points (cheers for the help Dad!)
Again, I will get some washers on these.
All tucked up and I'm back to Uni tomorrow
