I've had to come home for the weekend so managed to get a few hours in the garage which gave me enough time to finish off the last few jobs.
The last few parts I needed.
The longer bolts I ordered, I presume the others are too short because solid mounts are thinner than the poly ones.
Front floor mounts in.
More flange screws in.. and the castle nut as tight as I can get it for some reason the new 1" 5/16 socket I bought doesn't fit.. but it'll do for now, I'll amend it when its back.
Gaps are acceptable?
Down on all fours, again!
Clearance is looking good, that's with a 2cm thick block of wood between the top arm and the bump stop.
Rolled out for some fresh air!
Whoops..
So I had to jack it up and replace the blocks of wood with bigger ones.
I love the above shot.. sitting so nice
Sitting like a scared cat!
So, I'll be back to Uni tomorrow and George will be across next weekend to pick her up. My brain is going crazy with 'have i done this?' 'should i do that?' 'what if i did that?' but I think I've just got to realise I am at that stage now and George will take care of anything I've missed. I know it'll be in good hands!

Thats because some of them have a metric head, other imperial head and very often you get the wrong nut for what you asked - thats what happened to me!
Is that an harness bar what you fitted above the rear parcel shelf?

Yeah it's a harness bar but no it isn't going there, ha! It's just sat there for storage.
(Old photo)
That's where it is fixed.

I imagine George will sort that out for you though .
Those poly mounts look lovely! I think i'd consider them if I hadn't already painted up my solid mounts and fitted them.

The only thing I can spot you've forgotten is that rear valance lip!

Oh Adam! Haha, yeah I missed that.. quick easy thing to do, I'll mention it to him.
Looking good Luke, you'll catch up to me in no time now!
Yeah hopefully! I won't be turboing it straight away.. it'll be a standard-ish 998cc.. I'd imagine with having a full rebuild I will have enough problems to iron out and deal with.. so once it's all running happily and the whole thing is operating nicely, I will think about turboing it. Which means I can get it on the road quicker!

Tee hee! Yeah it'll be fine, only takes 2 mins with a grinder.Oh Adam! Haha, yeah I missed that.. quick easy thing to do, I'll mention it to him.
I'm taking a similar approach. I want to put a nice engine in Elliot (spec undecided at this point) but for now I'm popping the rebuilt 998 back in so I'm hoping I don't need to worry about the engine and can concentrate on fixing anything that goes wrong with the fresh build.Oh Adam! Haha, yeah I missed that.. quick easy thing to do, I'll mention it to him.

I have noticed one other thing! I don't see any spring washers on the bottom mount to toe board bolts. Might be worth getting some before you put it on the road as you don't want those bolts coming loose . Might just be me being over safety concious though .

First job will be reviewing the subframes, suspension and running gear.. double checking torques and coating selected bolts in copper grease.. so I will do that then! then I'll be dropping the engine and electrics etc..
I can't wait!
