lookin good mate, are you going to put a thin layer of fine filler once you have sanded the fibreglass, and i like the sound of your petrol tank
cheers buddy, nah im going to leave the filler because there going to be carpeted rather than painted, but ive got some 30 gsm matting to put over the 450 which will smooth it out a lot.
some great work there buddy hope you got some ear muffs for when you get it up and running lol showing my age now !
haha the exhaust will be pretty quite because of the design of the silencers, and the boot build will be there just so that i dont have to run the rest of the speakers too high, there only 8's so its nothing too loud. im after a quick luxury styled track car really. bit of an odd mixture right?
cheers

started by fixing most of the MASSIVE hole in the drivers floor, began by cutting out some more of the floor and some of the cross member.
then i welded the rear of the new panel in.
no photos of the inner sill area but i did manage to fill the 3 inch gap on the tunnel
whole floor before inner sill was welded
holes drileld in the front ready for plug welding when i make up the repair piece
started a repair on the doorstep as i wasnt happy with the first one.
now onto the bulkhead box.
made on a piece to join it to the dash rail and scuttle and its now ready for the scuttle to be fitted once i drill some holes in it
cheers

got the cuttle panel on yesterday and also started to rebuild the front of the floors.
i have also decided to make my own steering column as im not really happy with how it seats compared to where i want my seats adnd pedals etc. its only about an inch out but just makes it that little bit awkward. you can see in the photo below that the red line on the dash bar is directly infront of me when im sat in the car.
and a little photo of some random bit i had a play with last weekend
ive managed to get it down to just under 1kg
and now onto the fun bit! there was a huge sale on at car audio centre so i picked up most of the new system excluding the subs and amps.
this is my rough plan for the door cards (theres a few different layouts so let me know which you all prefer please.
and a few of the different speakers
cheers

Cheers

took both my front hubs apart and began to rebuild them with new wheel bearings and balljoints, ive finished one but need a new inner oil seal for the other.
i finished one of the front seams and fillered over, looks really good IMO
quick look at the door bars without my bracing in the way.
my fuel tank arrived yesterday!! and its beautiful
today i made up the recess for the tank to sit in the boot
my front end also came today so i put it together with some vicegrips just to check the fit and its not perfect but its better than i thought it would be for pattern panels.
thanks

mounted the drivers seat today on some homemade mounts. theyre going to have some swages put into them to strengthen them up. hopefully i can get my pedal box in on monday and then once the bits come for my steering column i can get that done then flip the car over and finished all the small little patches.
enjoy

You're keeping at it Ben and still being so adventurous. Hope you get a good weekend at it.
Hugh
cheers hugh, if you think this is adventureous then wait till i have to make my hinges for the flip-front! probly the only thing im worries about as its going to ruin the whole car ifi do it wrong. sadly ive had to work all this weekend else i cant pay for any parts but ill get a few bits done tomorrow. thanks again for the comments (Y)
Great project man, the boot set up looks really tidy. I think I want some InPhase speakers now, they look like the B&W I have at home
thanks alot, im quite impressed myself to be honest. yeah the speakers are actually quite good SQ wise aswell, ive tested them out in a test box i made up a while back and they seem to perform quite well.
