quick update, ill get some photos tomorrow.

front drivers floor has been removed because it had a brand new floor welded over the top of a cruddy one
both inner sills are going to need a bit of attention because of rust, im almost at the point of cutting both outter sills off and redoing both innrers doorsteps and outers but ill decide tomorrow.

one end of the exhaust tunnel is closed the other is just waitingfor the metal to be welded in.

on the front the bulkhead is pretty much finished i just need to make a lip to join the miglia box to the scuttle and top dash rail, then i can put the scuttle on and make my brace bars.

P.S is anybody knows where i could get a decept alloy front mounted radiator please let me know :P

Ben

both the seats and harnesses are out of a westfiel which means the harnesses are the short type so ill have to find a way of fitting them safley, but i think they set off the interior pretty well

HOW RUDE!!!!

haha the first thing i did was jump into them and well, even though theyre solid with no padding, they are the most comfortable thing ive ever sat in!
i spent the best part of an hour sitting in the car with them trying to get the right position for the seats pedals and steering. nobody is ever going to be able to drive it except me :)

Hi Ben - your work is very impressive. We come at Minis from a very different viewpoint. I want to make as little changes as possible, you want to do as much as possible!! But I have to respect your bravery in the alterations you are doing! I see a new scuttle panel there - watch as you fit it - I went and changed the space for my windscreen - a real pain. I would put in a few tacks and check the windscreen fits before welding up. But who am I to advise. You are in a different league from me.

All the best
Hugh

You could always do something similar to a Safety Devices harness that points backwards and sits quite close to the seat back. Wouldn't have to worry about your short harnesses then. Clicky

Honestly I wouldnt say I'm in any other league to anybody. I see it as mire of a personal choice to the type of car we both want, I see yours as a more difficult rest as your keeping things standard. Your work is impressive in it's own right!

Thank you for the comments! Once there both finished I hope to se you and the sky at as many shows as possible

P.s would you be able to measure the gap between top and bottom of the windscreen gap? Would help me to line things up

Hi Ben

Sorry didn't get back right away. Here is my measurements - its the vertical ones that are important - the picture is viewed from the front outside the car. Units are mm.

You would be better asking someone who hadn't messed around for their measurements. Hope this helps. You can see mine has been pulled in a tiny amount in the middle. That's after grinding!

thanks for that hugh, i only need rough measurements anyway just to check its roughly right when i go to tack it in.

no worries for not replying straight away, i havent done anything on the car because its been too hot to be wearing clothes and i dont want to try welding topless!
