Yeah standard boxes have been proven to around 140, but it's more down to driving style than anything! With an RTS I think it will be okay to around 120, but I have a spare box that ill e building a SCCR gear set into once it's on the road, then I'll be looking at building a twink turbo!

I'd definitely reccommend Steve for any engine work, was surprised when he phoned one night to ask what cam I'm using, just for him to get the right poundage of valve springs!! Service doesn't get much better

Yeah can't go wrong for £23! And looks like it'll mount up pretty easily

Still plenty of room for work on the head, valves are standard size for now. Didn't see much point in a race head for a 998!!

Cheers leaky! Hopefully the engine will be bolted together tomorrow then once I get some bits from Bingley, Sunday I may even be able to give it a test fire (don't hold me to that!!!)

Had a good outing at bingley yesterday, save to say I spent I fortune even though I spent most of the day staring at this!!!

DSN certainly saw me coming and swiftly emptied my pockets, not that I will complain.
Most just engine brackets/bolts but things that's needed all the same. Also picked up a set of they're alloy door hinges which should loose me some more weight off the doors.

Had placed an order with arc angels for a 2 piece front end and a set of group 5 arches, so collected them yesterday. I'm a little disappointed with the bonnet as the curves are all wrong, but I will drop them a call tomorrow and see if they're anything that an be done.

Also bought new headlamp assemblies for the front end. So have built them up ready to throw them on to mock up

Finally bought myself a high torque started aswell, more so to help with clearance against my radiator than anything else.

arc angels stuff does generally need a bit of work to get it to fit right. Think that's why its cheaper!

what starter is that? i need to invest!

Jonny, it's just a generic high torque starter that most mini suppliers will sell, it's made by "wosp" but it's cheaper to buy from mini spares than from wisp direct.

Fitted my oil cooler today, realised the generic cooler hoses won't fit how I want, so ive had to order up a load of AN fittings and hose for it. Should look the part aswell though

This is really coming along.

I I feel you pain with the AN fittings, I went through the JJC site adding up all the fittings I wanted and then had a heart attack.

I used a Clubman hose kit when I moved the cooler out in front of my grill.

Welcome to try my hoses.

If they use 90 degree fittings on the cooler I may take you up on that!

The hoses I bought from minispeed fit, but they interfere with the placement of the radiator :(

I've just ordered a load of goodridge push fit oil hose and fittings which is all -8 so hopefully it will flow enough!

They do indeed. I think the left hand hose as you look from the front is quite short, might not be long enough for where you have the cooler. I'll measure the lengths tomorrow.

Next comes the oil feed for the turbo and adapter for a pressure sensor, then move onto the radiator and boost hoses

Ben mate, if you swapped them over so they are not x ing. That should give you a bit of room for your oil feed and bits.

May just try that actually, problem I have is the cooler and fittings sit quite high. Meaning my radiator is higher than I'd have liked
