There's been a bit of progress lately, I have moved the shell over the road into a garage/shed so more work can get done without having to worry about weather etc!
A new alloy boot floor has been made to help with the lightweight theme! (Aiming for under 550kg)
Fuel pump and filter will sit in front of the fuel tank in the floor to keep things tidy
Also bought some carbon fiber a panels from Steve over on turbominis
Not bad for 130grams!!!
And fitted a new vernier duplex timing kit and a good used N/A metro camshaft (it is fitted with a tensioner now)
Comments welcome as always

Little bit more progress this weekend, fixed some previous owners bodge on the sills and fitted the box feet for my roll cage
Welded on some strengthening plates for engine steadies
Removed the rear parcel shelf ready for my ally bulkhead and parcel shelf
Also drilled and painted some engine bits
Comments welcome

I need to get over for a look soon. also you would lose more weight if you swap that timing cover back plate lol.

Just read this from the start.....OMG!!!!. How brave do you need to be to cut so much out and add new from an idea in your head without being certain it will work? Excellent work and a truly inspirational thread. Keep it up...can't wait for the next instalment

Welded some tube across the stiffeners to help strengthen the area.
Then started the long task of making a decent pattern, hoping to get hold of some 2mm card soon rather than the cardboard to make it a little easier.
Just need to make the side patterns and then it's almost complete
Quickly made some marking of where the beads/swages will run
Hoping to make a removable panel, much the same as a standard bulkhead.
I've also just bought a bead roller from eBay so ican roll the swages/beads myself and hopefully make it very professional looking. But I need to modify the roller first so that it is motorised on a pedal rather than a crank handle
Keep your eyes peeled, the bulkhead should be nearly finished in a few days

Started on the seat rails tonight, these will be stitch welded to the floor as to act as a new crossmember
More to come tomorrow night

Carried on with the rear bulkhead and parcel shelf today, parcel shelf is finished and installed, hopefully I can get the bulkhead itself finished tomorrow
Heres a few photos for you all
Template remade in card
Parcel shelf made, beads rolled and then rivetted and bonded in place
Also finished one of the four seat rails, and made up another ready for welding in tomorrow
Say tuned tomorrow for the rest of the parcel shelf

Ben mate, is it just me or is your seat mounts the wrong way round?
