well as many of you may have guessed im making a diffuser to sit in between my valances,

mainly because i hate seeing diffusers that sit miles past the back of the car (although i know that makes them work better for racing) im going for something more subtle but that will be yet another mod that will make this car more special.

most probably wont be more progress untill this weekend as i have to fix the mk2 over the next few evenings.

keep watching :)

hey guys,

had a good day with the grinder today, much to the neighbours annoyance.

ive managed to grind down all the welds on the rear end and also put in three patches (lower quarters and a patch to the windscreen surround)
tomorrow i may get everything to baremetal, filled and primed but i wouldnt hold your breathe

am just about to take on replacing my boot floor and looking at going down a flat boot myself,
i take it your floor has a slight angle on it and its not "flat" cant really tell with the photos,
any more info would be great
thanks

youngson - my boot floor goes straight from the top of the heelboard to the valance seam so it sits at a slight angle, but i have the recess put in for the fuel tank so that the fuel tank sits level. i can take more photos for you and email them if you want.

bit of an update today (long over due i know)
i got a repair panel from minijosh on here so that i can fix the hole in the roof corner.

started off by cutting out the outer panels of the corner
Posted Image

then cleaned everything up insde and coated with zinc rich primer
Posted Image

you can see here that i only took the outher most panels off so that i didnt need to add in any braces

next i took to removing the inner panels from the repair patch
Posted Image
again this was coated in zinc rich primer

next was the long task of trimming the patch to fit
Posted Image
Posted Image

tomorrow will see the panel welded and dressed then i will move onto finishing off the rear valance

drill is nice:P i got a age old pillar drill that is belt driven, with the belt system exposed XD sill, managed to drill and tap a block and head for 11 stud!

ha my welds on the underside of the pillars isnt that amazing this time round, maybe the cold has something to do with that :P

the drill is only a cheap one from wickes but it makes everything much easier, dont think ill be drilling blocks with it though!

time for a big update guys and girls,

SHES ON ALL FOUR WHEELS!!!!

got my recon arms from mini speed a few weeks ago so i got them build up ready to put the subframe together.
once everything was built up and checked it was disassembled again.

the bare subframe was fitted today and everything was checked for alignment etc, then the arms were put back on.
with everything bolted on and the coilovers mounted i did notice that i have a very minimal amount of clearance between the arms and boot floor so that will need modifying slightly later.

but its a huge boost to see it on its wheels for the first time in over 2 years, just pushing it a few feet was awesome!

quite cool to be able to bench press my own car aswell ;)

so heres the photos im sure you'll all want to see
