Well done for rescuing both cars. I cannot imagine nipping down to my local upholstery place and asking them to re wicker my seats.

The seats were a whole projects by themselves.

They were photgraphed thoroughly and then stripped. The metal frames were sanded, painted and passed on to a furniture maker to make new wooden inserts.
The finished frames were then sent to a Lloyds Loom approved cane chair repairman in the South of England. After he was finished recovering the seats and painting them, I had them shipped back.

It cost me a lot more to do the seats than to paint the car, but it was well worth it.

Hello.

I have a non functioning horn on my mk1 Mini and I am looking for all parts from the steering column to the badge at the wheel centre. I think it is called a Slip Ring Assembly.

Part 108 in Somerfords catalogue.

Thank you.

For reference, this thread is mainly about restoration so it has been moved to the "Projects" portion of the board.

I am leaving a link in the tech section for those who started following it in that part of the board.

Today I took the car to its first ride to a Classic Car meeting in front of an old marble stadium, where the 1896 Olympics were held.

This is such an attractive car.

That's why I love this forum, It gives you the chance to see models that you didn't even know existed and then hear information on those models from other enthusiasts.

I have had mini's in my life since I was 14 years old and It still amazes me when gems like this pop up and blow my mind!

Well done with this, What a find!

Ben
