Well done for rescuing both cars. I cannot imagine nipping down to my local upholstery place and asking them to re wicker my seats.
The seats were a whole projects by themselves.
They were photgraphed thoroughly and then stripped. The metal frames were sanded, painted and passed on to a furniture maker to make new wooden inserts.
The finished frames were then sent to a Lloyds Loom approved cane chair repairman in the South of England. After he was finished recovering the seats and painting them, I had them shipped back.
It cost me a lot more to do the seats than to paint the car, but it was well worth it.
