One thing I managed to get done is a nice brushed aluminium bulk head cover which will be bolted into place with some nice stainless button heads:
Then it was on to the million dollar question of will this aluminium cross member I have been slaving away at fit after all the welding and new plates etc etc:
Hell yeah it did.
So I took it out measured it up and drilled holes on the lip for it to be bolted to the floor:
and in:
Finally to round up I spent a couple of hours making some spacers for my bonnet hinges on the passengers side (as the lip in which the bonnet rests on is further across on that side than it is on the other. So here are a few steps:
Pretty happy with the outcome, it would have been so much quicker to do if I had a milling machine but still they look good :)
Thats all for this time folks, enjoy the read.

This car is EPIC!! I have been planning my build (similar to this) for the past 8 months (whilst saving the money for it!!!) and hopefully will start to do my build next year!! I hope to be able to finish to the same standard as you as this is one fine piece of art work and engineering combined! A VERY BIG well done!! keep it up!!!
Thank-you very much. So do you have a minus yourself or are you just talking about a standard steel shell you will be doing up? :)

Blue, the bulk head cover you are making will that not interfere with the recess for the wiper motor arms?
Not that I know of, it is mounted flush up against the bulkhead, if so I will cut small recess's for them. I will be having the wiper motor inside the car so am not sure how much I would need to cut if any. Thats on a list of things to look at. When i'm next with the car I want to be doing some measurements for a pedal box as I may change my setup.

I did however manage to squeeze a bit of time in to finish out the final positions of my bonnet hinges. Now I am using an old chopped up minus bonnet for mocking up (and it does have a lot of play with it twisting and flexing) but the hinges only have a spring operated pin in the one sidfe and when I open the bonnet fully the one side (without the pin) appears to slump somewhat. I will fibreglass the bracketry that attach on the hinges to my actual bonnet then trial the hinges again. If there is no slumping all will be fine but if there is I will drill a hole through the two scissoring parts of the hinge when it is full articulated out and have a clevis pin and R clip hanging in place (via some stainless wire) to slip in when opened :)
Anyway here is are some pictures and a small video of it:
Anyway have a Merry Christmas everyone.

love the hinges looking smart as always ha ha im not surprised that bonnet flexes with that much chopped outta it what on earth was it butchered like that for ???
It was an old bonnet of a minus perviously owned. It had a big hole in it to begin with and has crack throughout the whole thing (through the gel coat and into the lower layers) so it was rendered obsolete in terms of a final product. However it has been really good to have it to see fitment fort these hinges and clearances for the air inlet :)

I can't wait to make a bracket up and fit it in place :)
I also picked up some new steel doors which I am going to cut down and fit but I just need to find a bit of time from some where.
