Maybe something as simple as the fan belt is loose so the alternator is not providing the necessary charge to re-charge the battery...
But, when ever I need a battery, I pop off to halfords, one, because I have a trade card, but mainly because they have a no quibble warranty... and they are good batteries..
There is a battery which is meant for a Peugeot, which is a good alternative with a higher cranking amperage, can't remember which, but simple thing is to measure the battery box and then get the biggest you can fit into it within your budget with round terminals.

When i upgraded mine, i got a Pug 306 Diesel battery along with a high output alternator. And youll find alot of other people on here do to, with the battery that is, dunno about the alt.
I believe the pug petrol is a 063 type battery, more common hence less expensive than a normal mini battery. but similar CCA figures
the pug diesel uses a type 075 which has higher CCA figures but costs around the same as a standard mini battery

Bigger battery is more reserve capacity which is good.

Recently fitted the uprated version of the 063, cost 80 quid...but has been brilliant ever since. Worth a little extra, considering it'll be cold and wet in a couple of moths

find out why it keeps going flat, ok the battery may now be fubar, but you don't want to be forking out for a new one only for that to receive the same treatment...

I would second halfords, I think the battery isn't far off £35 if you have a trade card
