This time of year it's highly highly likely to be frozen unless you're running almost neat screenwash fluid in it!!!

Drive the car for 10mins, engine heat will defrost it.

On mine the water tube goes up the rear pillar and along the roof just above the door and then down the side of the windscreen in the pillar.

How does engine heat defrost it if the water line is running from the back of the car?

It doesn't, I guess he didn't read the "Jap" part...

When they freeze up there isn't much you can do (unless you really want to get to the pipes in the roof lining), but mine usually only freeze close to the nosel end, they do block up well from time to time so try unblocking first.

Engine hot, things in engine bay get hot, defrosting happens.

Put a fan heater underneath the car for an hour of so whilst running the engine to get the inside of the car warm. You might also need to warm the inside of the boot too. That should melt the ice. Then add 50% windscreen solvent and pump a load through until it's got the solvent all through the system.

Hmmm. Thought it was just jap ones had it in the boot.

I'm guessing the jap models have got them in the boot due to lack of space in the engine bay (filled up with AC unit)?

I think the problem stems from the fact that the bottle was never refilled with proper screenwash - just water (

That's what I assumed, I know 1992> have them in the boot also...
