i have worn thread on my bell housing it is one of the engine mount threads, what can i do about it? It is a diaphram clutch, would it be possable to get it either re tapped, or would i be better off using the bell housing that came off my other engine, but this is a verto clutch. IF i can use the other clutch case then is it simply a case of changine the arm or are there other things i need to do?
Both engines are A+ one engine is 1275 the other 1330.

First option, replace the housing, see your local scrap yard or post a wanted ad.
Second, you could get a helicoil for the housing and drill / fit that.

Verto / Oldstyle housing are not interchangeable unless you replace the whole clutch mech with it.

do you just mean the end plate (wok) needs changing where the engine mount bolts on?
either re-tap the thread or swap it with your other one. just transfer over the arm/plunger/release bearing etc. it's got to come off for either solution so i'd swap it personally.

yeah it is just the end cover where the arm ataches to. so i can just use the other one, the only difference between the two is that the one that is on it atm has holes on it i assume they are for ventelation.

Has it got quite a few holes in it? If it has it has been drilled to lighten it.

All bell housings ( nearly said ends :nugget: ) are the same just the plunger configuration is different..
Don't whack a bigger bolt in as you are likely to crack the aluminum, and don't forget, this is the thing which is holding your engine in the engine bay.
The easiest thing is to swap it out for another, failing that you'll need to helicoil it, either way your going to have to remove it.
